Hi all
recently flew from Mumbai (BOM) TO Pune (PNQ) , a grand distance of 53nautical miles. We had a total flying time of 19 minutes to PNQ.
This route is served twice daily by jet airways using 737-700/800 full service aircraft, with an actual business class with separate business cabin.
This got me thinking which other routes around the world are actually that short in terms of flight time and also which airlines operate them using what equipment?

Often times I see on Flightaware 5-10 minute flights between MCO or ORL to SFB. Usually they are corporate jets or G4's reposition flights.

Shortest in the continental US served by a mainline jet I believe is US Airways' PHL-BWI, 90 miles (78 nm). Flown with B733 or A319 equipment. Blocked at 45 minutes but actual flying time is closer to 25 minutes.

Isn't there a commercial route in Scotland (or in that area) that is something like 3 minutes? It's to an island, IIRC.
(edited to add): This obviously isnt a jet route, but still incredibly short.

Not the shortest but recently flew Phoenix to Tucson on USAirways' CRJ (all America West on the inside, aw). I could still see the lights of Phoenix over my shoulder on finals to TUS. Very nice short flight.
And this contribution is coming to you from baggage claim at Heathrow's T5, very nice daytrip to MAN on BA for the annual airline memorabilia convention in the shadow of Concorde G-BOAC. Very impressed by BA's ability to serve a hot bacon and tomato roll and hot and cold drinks on a thirty minute flight - hurrah!
fly Saha Air 707s daily from Tehran's downtown Mehrabad to Mashhad, Kish Island and Ahwaz

i believe you mean this one: between the airports on the islands of Papa Westray and Westray in the Orkney Islands. Part of the daily service operated by Logan Air, the journey has a scheduled duration of just 2 minutes and carries passengers a total of 9 miles (14 km).

Quoting vv701 (Reply 10): Papa Westray to Westray in the Orkney Islands. It takes around 2 minutes (or 1 with a following gale!). Here is a video of the flight:
The question involved jet-operated routes.
There's jet service several times a week Brazzaville (BZV) - Kinshasa (FIH), the capitals of the two Congos on opposite banks of the Congo River. ET operates twice weekly with 763s on that route although I don't think they have local traffic rights; it's part of a triangular route that operates ADD-BZV-FIH-ADD. KQ also has a few 738s a week with 5th freedom rights and local carrier Hewa Bora Airways with MD-82s and even a 727-200 if not mistaken.
That route is only 14 nm with a block time of 20 or 25 minutes. At one time UTA operated that route once or twice a week with a DC-10 and I believe Sabena also did it with DC-10s and/or 747-200s.

This flight is flown once daily. It's the combi in one direction and a fully configured 737-400 (with First Class) in the other direction.

I'm on that flight next week and it's only a CRJ. Sometimes they may sub in mainline aircraft, but i think 80-90% of the time its flown with Dash-8's. I'm surprised I'm on a CRJ i was expecting Dash 8.
