All,

My friend is going to EWR and he wanted to know if they had Wi-Fi, I told him that they may. He also asked me about CO and I told him they do not offer it. Am I right? Thank you in advance for all answers.

You have to pay for it.
I really wish they would not charge so much for it either, $9.95 for 24 hrs is kind of absurd considering most people will only use it for less than 3 hours.

Unfortunately yes. I had a 3.5 hour layover there on my way to MIA and I just used my Blackberry and tethered instead. It was cheaper to use my data (on my Canada plan mind you) in the US than to pay for the wi-fi. If your friend has a smartphone on a national plan, they could tether and it would cost nothing but some data usage.
