I'm planing a surprise trip for some of my friends to Japan. Since it will be the first time both I and them fly in business class I think I need some help. I know that both LH and AF fly their A380 to NRT but I don't know which one of them offers the best product. Which one shall I choose? Which one offers the best product? Not only in the air, but on the ground as well? (Thinking about lounges etc.)

I may be biased, bu LH is such a GREAT airline
And the lounges in FRA are not a bad as most will report. Your flight should leave in the Afternoon US/EAST/FAR EAST bank so it may be somewhat crowded

HA! A.netter from Germany says LH, A.netter from France says AF. Well, seat-wise, I think AF is better, though both LH and AF doesnt have a full lie-flat seat. It depends whether you're a star or skyteam member, if you're a member of one of those alliances then go with them, LH and AF pretty much has the same kind of service. IMHO, I would go with LH, like the poster above said, LH is more reliable and is consistent.
