I'm planing a surprise trip for some of my friends to Japan. Since it will be the first time both I and them fly in business class I think I need some help. I know that both LH and AF fly their A380 to NRT but I don't know which one of them offers the best product. Which one shall I choose? Which one offers the best product? Not only in the air, but on the ground as well? (Thinking about lounges etc.)

Thank you in advance!

IMHO go for the LH flight, and depending on your tastes, try to get the oriental/Japanese cuisine!!!

I may be biased, bu LH is such a GREAT airline

And the lounges in FRA are not a bad as most will report. Your flight should leave in the Afternoon US/EAST/FAR EAST bank so it may be somewhat crowded

Wishing you and yours a WONDERFUL flight..... and how about a trip report??

I will go for LH for their reliability and consistency.

I've flown J class on both airlines for longhaul and I definitely prefer AF!

Flying is amazing!

HA! A.netter from Germany says LH, A.netter from France says AF. Well, seat-wise, I think AF is better, though both LH and AF doesnt have a full lie-flat seat. It depends whether you're a star or skyteam member, if you're a member of one of those alliances then go with them, LH and AF pretty much has the same kind of service. IMHO, I would go with LH, like the poster above said, LH is more reliable and is consistent.

It's a cultural thing.

Thank's for your help!

Look's like we'll go with LH and SK.

Quoting JetBlue777 (Reply 4):

Throw in BA and the three main EU airlines are neigh-on identical, except that BA have lie-flats. There's really not much to choose between them.
