Can anyone tell me experiences of first class with US? I think I'll take a red-eye from SEA and I'm seriously considering flying first class with them.

Expect nothing but a larger seat than back in Y and you will not be disappointed.

I've used US in F quite a bit. More of my flights are shorter segments and it's just fine. On longer segments the meals are as acceptable as any domestic F can be. The seat is fine, more than enough for my simple needs. F/As have always been good to me.

Envoy on their A330s is nice, but the domestic product is basically you sit in front of the divider and get a slightly bigger seat - not worth the extra money. Fly Y and try and get a bulkhead or exit row seat, you'll be better off and probably just as comfortable.

Considering one of the flights has me going aboard a 767 (CLT-SJU), I'm eager to fly F all the way, that and US won't let me book segments separately. What I was planning was to take a red-eye from SEA-CLT on an A321. Since I'm not one to sleep on planes, I was hoping to use US's Envoy seat to relax (even if just for a couple of hours) once I make my connection in CLT. But just to be sure, I wanted to ensure that I'm comfortable enough to sleep on the A321. Since the A321 will have Wi-Fi, I'll most likely be awake the whole leg.

If you're willing to take a bit of a gamble, just buy a cheap Y ticket and then upgrade at check in. Last time I flew them ORD-CLT-MBJ had upgrades going for a mere $250. Not a bad deal, especially with the CLT-MBJ segment on a 762 with lie-flats.
