In the next few months, I will be traveling to China transiting through Beijing. Air China seems to have the best rates and Seat Guru implies good things about the Y class seats. Travelocity indicates an A330.
Does anyone have experience with Air China's international economy?

i have only experienced their long haul economy on domestic flights but from what i have seen the A330 has an acceptable product. PTV on each seat and pitch should be allright, it should be a very mediocre experience but certainly acceptable. There are a couple of trip reports on it as well (not written by me)

I've never flown mainland Chinese airlines long-haul, however from accounts of co-workers and people I see at the airport, the experience seems to be underwhelming especially in the area of service and quality.
In general from my experience yes it does seem many of these carriers are often the cheaper of the bunch, and tend to attract more of their own ethnic clientele and also atleast here locally primarily work with ticket brokers to help fill planes.
