Are there any flights using 747s domestically? I know UA did from ORD a few years back but it looks as though the 767 and 777 have taken over their roles. Also, any way of jumping on 727s, L10s or D10s anywhere either? Thanks for your time.

If you care for flying a A340, consider flying PR between LAS and YVR (I know, the latter is located in Canada ...).
Many / Most of the B744's flying domestically on UA had been re-positioning flights between their hubs. So, these would be the routes to see them nowadays, but as you say, very rarely.
Try to look into flights Westcoast to HNL or transcons from IAD.
