Why don't more large airports have sleeping rooms for rent for long layovers? Narita Airport has a very nice one with rooms with a bed, shower, and toilet, which is very inexpensive. Singapore's Changi also has one, although it is a little more expensive. There have been quite a few times when I've had an eight hour or longer layover, and I would have welcomed such a place. LAX is a good example of an airport that could use one, since many international flights depart at midnight or later. Could anybody on here provide a list of airports that have them?

I know AMS has 2 hotels at the terminal's airside, one is the Mercure and the other one is the Yotel, I -think- the last one rents rooms from a 3 hour minimum and up. They are also located at LGW and LHR.

AMS

I think AMS also has an upstairs "quiet room" with lots of long, reclined chairs that you can lay back on. There's rarely an available one though.

I remember walking past one of these places in ATL back in December. Must be fairly new there. I don't know how nice they are but they seemed pretty pricey.

Where is the one in ATL? I've been through ATL many times and I've never seen it.

BKK has the Louis Tavern Lounge which charges around $66 USD for a block of 4 hours. Basic amenities and a continental breakfast is provided. Nothing to write home about I should say and I'll not spend the money unless I'm very very tired with nowhere to go.

I think in the B-Concourse. To be honest, as small as they looked and as expensive as they were, I don't know why you wouldn't just buy a SkyClub pass for the day instead. And at the SkyClub, you get free booze.

It's called Minute Suites:

The ATL location is their first location, and I guess if it works out, they'll expand it to other airports.

According to the website, it's $30 for the first hour, and $7.50 every 15 minutes thereafter. They also offer an overnight rate (11pm-7am of $120, which isn't too bad.). Sure you can get a day pass for the DL SkyClub for $50 (or less if you buy them on eBay), but are they cool with folks taking naps?

The Minute Suites sounds very much like the one at Narita, although the one at Narita has been there for years. I wonder if they got the idea for Minute Suites after visiting Narita. I hope they will expand to more airports. I hope they are successful so they'll stay around.

I've often thought they should have these in crew rest lounges.

Correct - I have stayed at the LHR Yotel in T4 landside.
