Hello everyone -
I bought my ticket from SKP through BUD and LGW to MCO with BA like couple weeks ago through cheapoair.com for a flight on Feb 22nd, but due to some personal reasons, my mother had some post-surgery problems, I would like to postpone the flight for couple weeks and stay with my family until my mother get better.
I called BA explaining them my situation, but the operator on the phone said that they can't do any changes on the 1st leg of my ticket, but they are able to do changes on the 2nd leg (return leg), and they told me that I need to talk with cheapoair representative. I called cheapoair representative, with nice Indian accent, and constant breathing on the microphone it was really hard to understand, but the representative told me that they will need to charge me 250USD plus the difference in the price, in my case 54USD.
I want to know, is it really impossible for BA representative to change the date of my trip through their control panel or I will really need to try as much as possible to convince them to do that for me? Since I know that I've done that before and it worked, it's just luck, depending from the operator.
What do you guys think? Is it possible, and how I can approach them?
Thanks

Its pre travel and booked through an agent, BA will not make changes to it im afraid. Even if they did, they would still charge the same fees your agent has quoted you, plus a service fee.

I settled down for date change fee of 350USD just because I really need to postpone my trip. But the support call to cheapoair.com was ridiculous. First, when I asked how much it would cost, they told me 335USD (250USD service fee + 85USD price difference), and I said ok, lets go and change. As soon as I said that, the guy told me that he forgot one fee, and that the price now is 440USD, and I said thanks, but I am not changing my date if its that amount. He said 'wait, let me talk with my supervisor", and after couple minutes he is saying that he negotiated the fees for me, and the price is now 350USD. That's simply ridiculous, what are sites like cheapoair doing with the fees, my situation is that I really need to postpone my trip and stay with my family, otherwise its good lesson, next time to book my ticket directly with ba instead of some "negotiating" websites.

As I said before, the same fees would have applied had you booked direct as well. Any difference in fare would be collected, any change fee applicable to the ticket charged and a service fee applied.
