I was told by GS agents that if I fly on a Full-Fare ticket in BisF on CO from EWR to Asia (non-stop) and by Dec 31st 2011: that FF ticket WILL count towards my invite I'm GS in 2012. I don't know, that's a lot of FF miles to not go towards a potential GS invitation. I have been GS since the year it started. Should I play it safe and fly UA metal all the way to Asia even if from NYC I must make a stop somewhere. Any UA folks here who KNOW the true answer?

The true answer is they have yet to quite work out qualifications, and benefits of GS or other MP levels. Legacy CO and UA programs differ in several major respects.

Much of the leadership overseeing the frequent flyer programs have played musical chairs so things like GS are one of many things they will need to work out over this year before launching a new combined program.
