The topic says it all really. It can be either one way or return. The most I paid was o/w from ALC-NCL at Christmas and it cost me £120. In the end I didn't take the flight and lost my money.

US$2500 return ticket Amsterdam-Istanbul-Bangkok in Business Class. I think a very good fare for a nice flight with a great airline, in a new A340-300. Just forgot to claim frequent flyer miles... :-(

About 480 GBP for Heathrow-Male-Colombo-Kuala Lumpur-Singapore-Colombo-Heathrow on SriLankan last November. A tad expensive, but nevertheless very enjoyable. Biman Bangladesh have 395 GBP deals routing Heathrow-Dhaka-Bangkok-Singapore-Bangkok-Dhaka-Dubai-Heathrow. I feel a trip coming on - well, in the next couple of years.

I have non-reved all over the world since 1958.
As a non-rev the most I ever paid was about US$150 (ID 90) to fly LHR to NBO on British Airways.
As a non-rev the LEAST I ever paid was US$2.50 per flight segment on the original Frontier Airlines as a employee's spouse.
As a revenue passenger (non-business travel, where I am paying the fare) the most I have paid is about US$625 to fly ICT to OGG.

Midwest Airlines $500/person to PHX. My mom refused to fly coach (clausterphobia) for the trip, but because first on every airline was way too much, we settled on YX, this was in 2003, before the Midwest Saver Service; YX quickly became her favorite airline with 2x2 seating and extra legroom!

I didn't pay for the ticket, but my parents did:
CO EWR-STT April 2003 - $743.50 per person roundtrip.
A four hour flight on a 73G that cost more than a seven hour flight to Europe would have been.

Dont know if this counts, but i once paid 150$ more just to fly on a KL MD11 from SFO-AMS, rather than going through FRA on my way to GVA with an LH 744. Just had to do it!

Mar. 11, 1992, $350 for a coach ow MIA-ATL on a DL MD-88.
I know I was in a hurry, I know it was an almost late-minute purchase, I know it was only one way... but I found it outrageous.
