I thought it would be fun to compile a list of new longhaul flights that would be nice to see from the US within the next 5 or so years. Feel free to chime in with routes you would like to see, but please keep it semi-realistic (no GSP-LHR or PVD-PVG ). I tried to take into account future fleet plans for each airline (e.g. I didn't list too many new flights for DL because they have no new longhaul aircraft arriving in the immediate future). Some of the flights I would like to see, organized by airline:
SFO-TLV (788, 5+ weekly)
SFO-CAN, CTU, or XMN (788, 3-4 weekly)
SFO-TPE (788/9, daily)
SFO-DEL (788/9, daily)
LAX-MEL nonstop - do they have equipment that can make it?
IAH-LAD (788, 3-4 weekly) - probably unlikely due to Angolan government
ORD-DME (762, 4-5 weekly)
IAD-MAD taken over from EI (762/3?, daily)
IAD-BER (762, daily) - this plus two above maybe possible once 788s take over one or two 762/3 routes?
EWR-DXB (788/9 or 777, daily)
EWR-BLR (788, 5+ weekly)
SEA-FUK (763, 4-5 weekly)
ATL-NBO via DKR (763, 3-4 weekly) - this was announced, but I would like to see it actually happen
JFK-BOM (777/L, daily) - would like to see this re-start if 9W joins DL/AF-KL JV
JFK-LAX-SYD (77W, daily) - would like to see one flight on AA metal
DFW-PVG (777, daily)
ORD-TLV (777, 5+ weekly)
MIA-COR (763, 3-4 weekly)
MIA-JNB (77W, daily)
MIA-HEL (763, daily, winter only) - move ORD-HEL to MIA-HEL for winter season
LIM-DFW (763, daily)
LIM-ORD (763, 3-4 weekly)
EZE-JFK (342/3, daily) - could potentially do better than last time with a DL codeshare?
NBO-JFK (788, 4-5 weekly)
ADD-JFK (788, 4-5 weekly)
LHR-STL (763, daily) - probably a long shot, but could possibly work with the AA/BA JV?
CPH-SFO or LAX (343, 5+ weekly)
FRA-MSP (333, 5+ weekly)
MUC-IAH (343, daily)
MXP-ORD or BOS (763 or 332, 4+ weekly) - unlikely, but would like to see either of these return
KRK-ORD (763 or 788, summer only) - would love to see this return in the next few years
VIE-ORD or MIA (763, 5+ weekly) - maybe ORD for the summer and MIA for the winter?
IST-IAH, DTW, MIA, or BOS (332 or 343, 3-5 weekly) - all mentioned by airline as possibilities
LED-JFK (763 or 788, summer only, 3-4 weekly) - long shot, but could possibly work with DL codeshare?

Many of these routes would be nice.
A few things that I think wouldn't only be nice but would be large successes:
QR, EK, TK, or EY to DTW In this area there is a very large population of Islamic people that could connect on flights from these hubs to where there families are from.
Someone to fly ORD-EZE perhaps AA?
ORD-MXP UA or AA

That would be great, but that's AA's territory...
But so is MIA.
MIA is a focus city for LAN and also serves as the headquarters for LAN Cargo S.A. MIA is not comparable to DFW for obvious reasons. The majority of LAN's flights that operate into MIA cater to VFR traffic.
At MIA, LAN offers flights to BOG, CCS, EZE, GYE, LIM, PUJ, SCL, and UIO.

Quoting FSDan (Reply 11): Does a 77W have the range for that? I thought JFK-HKG was pushing the limit.
I'm not sure. I just assumed it would be because DFW-HKG is actually only 50 miles longer than JFK-HKG (0.6% of the total flight length). I didn't really consider the routing though, there are probably more winds on the DFW route compared to the transpolar JFK route.
