Why did you pair those two together? Because they both have four engines?

Quoting Mortyman (Reply 2): Is there a B747 or A380 mentioned ?
No, there isn't. Nor is DC-8, nor Il-86. Nor did I make any possible indication that they were.
Was just asking a question....
Quoting GBLKD (Reply 3): Sorry but the best looking quad of all time isn't the 707 or A340.
He wasn't asking for best looking quad. Best looking between these two.

Quoting PlymSpotter (Reply 5): I would say the A340-600 is best. The 707 is good, but it reminds me too much of a 737.
Well, developmentally speaking, the 737 should remind you of the 707.
All that aside, I'd go with the 707. The A340-500 isn't far behind, though.
I've flown with Charlie I, Buddy, Earl, Carl I, Lucy II, Fritz, Stretch, L.J., Thunder, Flip, André, and 21 others

And the winner is the Vickers VC10.
I like that,
Seriously, though, the 707 is one of the best looking Aircraft ever made, A340 ? it has always, to me, looked all 'wrong'
the -300 with it's tiny engines looks out of proportion.
The -600 is ok, but still not a great looker.
The best contribution to safety is a competent Pilot.
