Hello all,
I'm on a DL flight Thursday (ATL-BOS) and the flight number is 8770. The reservation agent didn't know anything about the flight. It seems to be a special section, maybe an additional segment for the day.
Can anybody, maybe someone from DL, tell me what this is?

What equipment is used and what time is the flight? My guess would be to get an ac to BOS to pick up the Red Sox.

On the 15th is an extra section TPA-ATL #8771. Red Sox play Tampa on Friday. Either the team charter or a hell of a lot of fans headed to the game.

It's just an extra section. Probably just that simple.

How far in advance of a trip would such a flight get loaded into the system?
Assuming this is a team charter, would they have arranged for this trip months ago (before the season started), and then DL put the extras into the schedule, or would they have figured out, say, a week or two ago that the plane would be coming from ATL (as opposed to DTW or MSP), and only then load the flight?

Its a Red Sox charter. A few years ago I worked for the fbo that handles the DL charter flights here to PIE. Always lots of fun with baseball charters, I got to say that I do miss working them.
