Quoting knope2001 (Thread starter): A side effect of the temproary shutdown of nonessential (United States) FAA duties is that the 7.5% ticket tax is not being collected.
That was promoted as a temporary boon for flyers, however several airlines seemt to have raised fares to offset the ticket tax savings.
Even though it isn't been collected, are tickets still liable for the tax so when they do start collecting again the airlines still have to pass on the receipts of the tax that should have been paid or has the tax effectively being repealled while it can't be collected??
