I'm wondering if anyone will be able to help me with this;
I'm flying Glasgow to Orlando via Dublin in a few weeks on Aer Lingus. My flight from GLA to DUB is operated by Aer Arran and therefore arrives at DUB Terminal 1, however my connection to MCO departs from Terminal 2.
Will I have to collect my luggage on arrival in Dublin and re-check them for my next flight since, I assume, I'll be using the US Border Pre-Clearance facility or will the be checked straight through to MCO.
I had a look on both the Aer Lingus and Dublin Airport websites but couldn't seem to find much information with regards to terminal transfers.

Your luggage in GLA should be checked all the way through to MCO if you have booked GLA-DUB-MCO on the one ticket.
Same should apply on the return sector from MCO to GLA.
Next Flights: (EI)DUB-HAM-DUB, (EI)DUB-LIS-DUB, (EI)DUB-ORD-DUB
All nonstop US flights originating in Dublin and Shannon are precleared as far as I know. If it's like Shannon (which I'd imagine it would be given it's basically the same system), you would have to reclaim your baggage and re-check it so that it can be photographed by the US Customs and Border Protection cameras at the check-in desk to be identified by you later during processing. Also (obviously) you would need to go through security screening again.
Coming the other direction shouldn't be a problem - you would remain in the secure part of the airport. As I said this is how it works at SNN so I'd be interested to hear from the DUB crowd to see if it's any different.

That's not true, Preclearance closes at a certain point in the afternoon, so a couple of flights (such as EI 109 to JFK and EI 137 to BOS) clear in the US.

Pre-clearance is a great bonus, but do not delay going down there early, as the lines can be long. The facility at T2 is a huge improvement over the old facility. One additional piece of information - there is no duty free selling aboard the flight, if the flight has been pre-cleared, so if you want it buy it at the airport.

When they first opened the facility there were too long of waits and flights leaving delayed waiting for pax stuck in pre clearance which is why the 2 EI flights don't use it. MCO uses pre clearance no need to reclaim bags. Bags are transferred to next flight. When clearing customs they show you a photo of you bag which eliminates the need to physically carry bags thru customs. T1 and T2 are connected post security with a walk way so no need to exit security. There is a second security check after you pass thru pre clearance before the us bound gates.

It's an easy process really - bags are checked right through.
Simply follow the signs for Flight connections. You will actually pass through the baggage reclaim hall in T1, but there is no need to retrieve your bags. Simply proceed across the reclaim hall, and you will be directed up an escalator, and you then immediately turn right down a short corridor which leads you to a security check. From here, the main T1 shopping area, you can proceed to any of the 5 boarding areas in T1 or T2. In your case, you turn right towards "gates 401 - 426". Just follow the signs.
