In April 2003 I flew an American Eagle ATR from MIA to EYW. Since I was only 6 back then, I do not remember what ATR. Could it have been an ATR-42?

You say you flew American Eagle? Then it was Executive Airlines ATR-72. They operate to a TON of regional destinations from MIA. Bimini, Nassau, Cuba Charters, and Intra-Florida routes are just some of the places they fly from. Not only there but they also have some destinations from DFW (But they have a different fleet based at DFW) and a ton of regional caribbean flying from SJU.

True, jonathan, but in 2003, they may have still had ATR-42s based in MIA. The latest photos I came across on here were dated into Summer of 2002. Therefore, it's possible that he may have flown on a -42 rather than a -72 (although unlikely at that point). One easy way to figure it out, kann123air: were there 2 flight attendants onboard or 1?

Exactly, I flew an ATR-42 on MIA-NAS in 2002, the next time I flew MQ to NAS was in 2006 and by then it was of course an ATR-72 which had two FA's while the 42 only had one.

I am not sure when they stopped flying 42s but I would put my money on the ATR-72.

I believe all flights were ATR-72s in 2003. Eagle was selling them to folks like Empire who wanted them for cargo.

So....most probably it was an ATR-72? I honestly don't remember the amount of FAs. All I remember (remember, I was only six back then   ) is that it was definitely an ATR by Executive Airlines/American Eagle. I also remember a sign saying something like "Welcome to Key West" in the 1:00 a.m. darkness.
