Need Help With A Non-Rev Challenge...

Hi there everyone!

I have a bit of a challenge on the horizon... I work for QK (Air Canada Jazz) and will travelling from YHZ to YYJ on 22SEP, one day after the possible AC F/A strike. If the strike actually happens, am planning on using my ZED fares and routing myself south, through the USA, so I can actually get to YYJ that day.

I am issuing this challenge to you, great folks of A.net! I need help finding a routing, from YHZ to YYJ, while avoiding sitting in a middle seat. Throw me on half a dozen CRJ's, stopping at half a dozen different airports, I really don't care. Just don't suggest a XXX-LAS A320 flight that is full to the brim!

Here are the rules... I will not accept a middle seat, I must depart YHZ and arrive YYJ on 22SEP (otherwise times do not matter), and I am limited to the following airlines (all regional/express carriers are included):

AA
AS
CO
DL
UA
US
WN

Thank you all for your help, I really appreciate it! It is my Dad's birthday on 23SEP and would love to be there!

I'm looking forward to your responses!

I'm confused. You want to nonrev somewhere, and it's relatively important to you that you want to be there, but, you will refuse to get on a plane if you are issued a middle seat?

Anyway the AA/AE loads out of YHZ for 9/22 are as follows:

AA 4458 YHZ - JFK 630A - 750A ERD 29/44 (0)
AA 4479 YHZ - JFK 1250P - 205P ERD 41/44 (0)

*(0) is # of NRSA pax listed

Good Luck!

Forgot to mention JFK-SEA if it helps ya (looks pretty good).

AA 269 JFK - SEA 630P - 945P 757 8/22 (1) 127/166 (0) TOTAL: 135/188 (1)

If you need any AA/AE loads for anywhere, just throw city pairs at me and i'll get you them  Smile

Correct! I honestly do not care whether it takes all day, or if I have to fly on a ton of flights to get there, but I'd rather not sit in a middle! It is totally possible to fly coast to coast on a few different CRJ's or Embraer's (both big and small ERJ's), if you're willing to mix several airlines. My biggest problem is I have so many possibilities, I'm not quite sure where to start!

I really appreciate your offer and may PM you later!

You can also lengthen that SLC connection a bit by using the following for DEN-SLC:

DL4693 DEN 1440 SLC 1612 CR7

Oh I am very well aware the strike is off  . I spent the morning (0500-1100) cancelling ~160 QK flights, then when to bed (after working overnight), got up, came into work (at 1800) and then reinstated about ~100 of them. I may just go through the USA anyway, depending on how rough the loads are looking on AC/QK for 22SEP.

Now THAT is the sort of thing I am talking about! I may not use it this time 'round, but I will definitely keep that in my back pocket! Thank you very much!

I'm not sure you understand the rules of Non-revving. I bet if it were the last middle seat on the last flight that could get you to work on time, you might say otherwise.
Good luck and I see you might just have gotten some with the AC strike being off.

Not gonna happen for a ZED. There's already more AA employees listed for the flight than there are open seats, and the rest of the ORD DEN flights the rest of the night aren't favorable.

Worst case, take your passport and go international to get home.

I once was in JFK and needed to get back to Chicago, but a really bad blizzard cancelled nearly ALL flights to Chicago. So, seeing as the international flights were more of a steady option, I went JFK-LHR-ORD.

Always carry that passport. buy 200 zed's. you'll never know when you'll need it. You can always refund them.

Believe me, I know the rules of non-revving very, very well. Sure, if it my last ditch effort to get to work, of course I will accept a middle seat! Out of the 442 flights I have flown (as a non-rev) in the last couple of years, I've had to do that exactly twice (sit in a middle seat, I mean). I just plan my travels very, very well and why I rarely fly the most direct route across North America.

The only time my passport leaves my bag is when I am handing it over to customs. I often will pop down through the USA, if I am trying to go west or v.v. (YHZ-BOS-YUL is very common). I had to fly YVR-LHR-YYC last year, due to a similar issue that you had.

Once again, thank you everyone for the comments and assistance!
