I've also included 2012 in this new thread since some may have already started booking flights for next year already. I've already booked a flight late February:
2/23/12: ATL-LAS Delta
2/27/12 LAS-ATL Delta
Not including the a/c types and flight numbers, as this far out they can change multiple times.

My flying already in my whole life is 152 (I'm 13, so...) so 2012 will be a interesting year. Only continents visited already are Europe and N-America, will be nice to get to S-America, Asia, Africa and Oceania. Only left are C-America and Antarctica (and C-America is kinda part of N-America, so)

Going to watch my one Rangers game of the year and man did I pick it. With a 5 game lead over the Angels, they need to hold it until Sat so I can watch my beloved Rangers clinch the division!!!!!
Planned trips but not booked for 2012
In April going back to DFW for My Rangers game, also seeing family as always, but taking more time to see some friends that I haven't seen in quite some time. Should I stick with DL, or go back to getting raped on AA for the n/s? I'm not that price sensitive but on the trip this weekend DL was 300 bucks cheaper for my wife and I. That's a lot of money.
Going to SFO for our two year anniversary in June, with a few days in Santa Cruz. Was planning on using miles on DL for this trip, but what are yall's opinions on options out of BNA?

In less than 2 weeks time, I am flying my longest LCC flight.
On October 6, Flydubai between DXB and SAW. Even with the added 40 kg luggage allowance, it is still much much cheaper than TK or EK and I might even score a Sky Interior 737-800
I then have a return domestic flight in Turkey.

AIRLINERS.NET CREW HEAD MODERATOR
A few weeks back, I scrapped my original late February trip and opted to take a trip in December instead. I was originally just going to buy a new ticket and wait until later to cancel my award ticket and my return ticket, but rebooking the return ticket as a roundtrip was about $20 cheaper (after the change fee and fare difference) than booking a new ticket. I'll wait until sometime around the first of the year to cancel my award ticket, as that SkyMiles redeposit fee would take a bite out of my trip budget if I canceled it now. New plans:
As for my 2012 plans, nothing is set since I'm axing my trip for February. There will definitely be at least one trip to LAS next year, and who knows, maybe I'll finally take that trip to London or Paris for a nice long weekend (or maybe a trip to Alberta).

Hey y'all! It's not too late, Delta and Jetblue seem to be having 40% off sales (i.e. flights are 40% below what they normally are). Since Delta gives you 24 hours to cancel and still get a full refund (and because I still had $54.90 on my DBC), I booked the flights listed in bold below (By the way, crossed-out flights were ones that never happened and were replaced by the italicized ones.)
February:
US 4597 ROC-LGA 1:34 DH1/DH8A (opeated by Piedmont Airlines dba US Airways Express) US 2161 LGA-DCA 0:59 319/A319 (dba US Airways Shuttle) US 2163 LGA-DCA 0:23 319/A319 (dba US Airways Shuttle)
US 4039 DCA-ROC 1:19 CR2/CRJ2 (operated by Air Wisconsin dba US Airways Express)

11/14: BA 846, LHR-WAW

12/4: KL, AMS-WAW
12/20: AF 1247/AF 378/DL 5545, WAW-CDG-DTW-PIT
1/2: DL 5545/DL 248/KL 1365, PIT-DTW-AMS-WAW
I'll be flying BA and (post-merger) DL for the first time. Haven't flown on a U.S. carrier in nearly four years, so I hope this will be worthwhile.
For 2012, I intend to visit several places in Europe (shortlist includes Lyon, Madrid, Paris, Belgrade, Tallinn, Lisbon and Rome) before I'll be going home to Manila in July. I might also make another trip to Singapore, and probably a trip to Washington, D.C. if time allows for it.

2011 was a good year for me for getting aircraft types for the first time.
For 2012, I've got no flights booked as yet, but Monday will see my first flights for next year booked, which should happen in January:
BNE-SYD, SYD-BNE - both on Virgin Australia
Other flights planned for next year include:
March 2012 - BNE-CNS, CNS-BNE - both on Virgin Australia
October 2012:
BNE-POM (Port Moresby) - Virgin Australia
POM-GUR (Port Moresby to Alotau, Milne Bay Province) - Air Niugini
GUR-POM - Air Niugini
POM-BNE - Virgin Australia
There may be other flights which may happen on my trip to Papua New Guinea, which include:
POM-MDU (Port Moresby to Mendi, Southern Highlands Province)
MDU-POM
POM-GKA (Port Moresby to Goroka, Eastern Highlands Province)
GKA-POM
**These may or may not happen - just need things to be confirmed for this 2 to 3 week long trip to Papua New Guinea in March or April next year.

Well, after dozens of emails and the first time I've had to pay for tickets by Western Union money transfer, I have the two SCAT flights firmly booked with paper tickets waiting for me in Almaty. May replace the Air Astana B757-200 with a SCAT B737, as it should be operated by Small Planet Airlines which would be a reasonably unusual carrier.

Customer Day One was in May11 and the CO call should be gone by the end of this month. CO 005 ticket number and CO flight numbers should be gone by early Mar12.

Oh. I was under the impression it hadn't come around yet. So from March the Continental brand will, effectively, cease to exist?

Yes, CO will technically cease to exist at the end of Nov11 although CO flight numbers will still be around. By 4Mar12, which is the reservations cutover, all CO flight numbers will cease to exist. All flights will then will only use UA flight numbers.
Quoting byronicle6 (Reply 62): What seat were you in? Did you do a Trip Report?
I was 28J. You?
I've never done a trip report before but I'm planning to start with my RTW trip in January. I personally thought the flight was excellent, and EK are far-and-away the best way to cross the Tasman. I've never crossed the ditch on an NZ widebody but EK are certainly light years ahead of DJ, QF and JQ. Anyway (as you can see) I seem to spend half my life on QF 737s so it's always nice for a change!
Quoting RyanairGuru (Reply 67): I've never done a trip report before but I'm planning to start with my RTW trip in January.
Same with me, haven't done one yet (have only recently joined A.net but also planning on doing one on my next flight which also happens to be in January. Not as exciting as your trip sounds though! Just a hop across the ditch to SYD on a NZ 767-300. Would have liked a 777-200/300 or 747-400 but NZ rarely anything bigger than the 767-300 on the route.
Quoting RyanairGuru (Reply 67): I personally thought the flight was excellent, and EK are far-and-away the best way to cross the Tasman.
I would completely agree with that! Having flown EK, NZ, QF, DJ, LA, and SJ when they were still flying across the Tasman, EK are by far the best in terms of the service offered onboard and hard to beat their catering and IFE

It should still be a good trip, and it would be interesting to hear what you say about the new NZ 4-tier service. Out of interest which level (Works, Works+ etc) have you booked.

But why not the A388
When booking EK were charging over $700 NZD return, which i wasnt prepared to pay, whereas the NZ flights cost me $390. Also EK flight times didnt really suit this time as the evening departure from AKL and early morning departure from SYD/MEL/BNE means that we lose a day of holiday, but it is definitely on the cards to fly the EK A388 at some point to add another carriers A388 to my logbook
Have booked the Works level

Going to take the train to Kolding, spend a couple of hours there and then head to BLL by bus.
Luckily the shedule's working in my favor as there's a bus leaving Kolding at 16:00 getting into BLL by 17:08
Now if I could just predict the weather... Got the choice of an early train with a change in Flensburg getting into Kolding by 20 past 10 a.m. or the convenient direct Eurocity which is arriving around 12:30 (and has one big advantage: Departure time in Hamburg is veeery relaxed 09:30...).
Considering the fact that I know that city quiet well and it's not exactly big 3 1/2 hours should be more than enough. However, if the weather turns out to be really nice I might appreciate having those two extra hours. Oh well, still got a couple of weeks to decide...

Thanks all for the reactions. Indeed the Biman->Korean connection on different tickets of course is the single thing which worries me a bit. But I just didn't have time to build in more slack. The worst case would be when Biman has a longer delay to book something else to Japan last minute so I don't miss the All Nippon airpass flights

2/13: AZ 609: JFK-FCO
2/14: AZ 190/LO 226: FCO-VIE-WAW
I wanted to force a routing through FCO on the outbound, but no flights into MXP from WAW had suitable connection times, so I decided to scrap that leg and go ahead with the non-stop. I'm also not very fond of the long layover in FCO (eight hours), but I can't do anything about it because that's what the system gave.
The 500 lost miles, meanwhile, can be found somewhere else.

Happy new year y'all!
I had 27 flights last year! And I recently booked my 4 first legs for the new year
24 of my flights last year were on Delta, and I made Silver! I hope it pays off somewhat... I did ask DL to remove my upgrade request on the DC9 flight though

Our family is considering an trip to Europe with a stop in Germany to visit family but nothing confirmed. Could be Paris, Athens, Venice or Istanbul. Did it in 2011 to Rome, would be fun to do it again!
Oct 2012
KEF-SRQ/TPA/MCO/SFB-KEF with a stop in the USA or direct to SFB if price in Saga Class is good.
After the RTW trip I will post the actual routing.
Note: I actually booked these flights, so this should count as my 'booked flights'
More flights to follow as meetings and conferences get confirmed.

Looks like I'll manage to slip a few trips in between studies. Not sure how I'm getting out to MAH, will try and make an interesting routing out of it.

February 2012:
Day trip for a meeting in San Francisco:
SEA-SFO --- AS --- 73G
SFO-SEA --- AS --- 739
Meetings in Connecticut, figured I'd add a day in NYC at the end and just fly there nonstop:
SEA-JFK --- DL --- 752
JFK-SEA --- DL --- 738
[with some trains in between]
I'm off to a much better start than I was in 2011.

Just booked my spring break trip home.
March 11 DL GFK-MSP, MSP-LGA
March 18 DL LGA-MSP, MSP-GFK
Saved 800 dollars by flying into LGA over BDL! Longer trip home and not a fun drive but for 800 bucks itll be well worth it!

I'll post more as i get further along in the booking process. It'll be interesting to see what kind of schedule and equipment changes occur in the next 8 months. And, Dear higher power, please no volcanic eruptions, snow storms, thunder storms, major wars or mechanical delays.
I could have elite status if I wanted it, but flying the same airline all the time is boring.
Slight change of plans; it seems AZ cancelled the morning flight out of OTP on March the 25th.

They handled it pretty well considering everything, took only about 20 minutes on the phone, and I was already rebooked on an earlier flight... (with a 23.5hr layover in ATL, ridiculous). However, I found out about it by accident.

Dec 8, STL-ORD, AA MD-83
Dec 10, ORD-STL, AA MD-82
Feb 3, STL-MKE, WN 737
Feb 4, MKE-STL, WN 737
To update my previous post, I ended up adding a couple of WN 733 trips into my schedule (Jan 27, STL-MDW and Jan 29, MDW-STL). Additionally, the Feb 3 STL-MKE turned out to be on a 735 with the return MKE-STL on Feb 4 on a 733. The MKE-STL flight had a pathetic load of only 11 pax.
The new year is looking pretty light on air travel at the moment, I've only booked this so far:
May 17, STL-MSP, DL 320
May 17, MSP-YYC, DL E75
May 27, ANC-SLC, DL 752
May 27, SLC-CVG, DL 320
May 27, CVG-STL, DL CR7
Strangely, this will be my first CR7 flight on DL. I've flown them with other carriers, but somehow never crossed paths with them on DL despite their being my preferred carrier.

SQ canceled my flight from SIN to MNL and I had to call them and reroute us to CEB on MI as we will miss our connecting flight in MNL. After one hour of waiting and talking, I avoided a $20 transaction fee and a $40 fare difference, kudos to the SQ agents!
Singapore Airlines - SQ 025 - Airbus A380-800 - JFK to FRA
Singapore Airlines - SQ 025 - Airbus A380-800 - FRA to SIN Silk Air - MI 566 - Airbus A320 - SIN to CEB - Replaced SQ 912 SIN-MNL (B777-200ER) Cebu Pacific Air - 5J 209 - ATR72-500 - CEB to CGY - Replaced 5J 295 MNL-CGY (Airbus A320)

LH Hel-Fra A319
LH Fra-Bru A319
AT Bru-Cmn 737-800 (When the schedules become "real," I'm hoping for either the AT 744 or 74M, but i'd also take the 757 or 763)
thinking of doing:

EY Cmn-Auh-Kul
10/15
QR Kul-Doh-Cpt
10/16
EK Cpt-Dxb-Sin (I discovered EK is flying the A345 between Dxb and Cpt.)
Though this routing sounds and probably is crazy, i wanted to do a comparison between the three premier gulf carriers during my last RTW trip but didn't have the courage. Plus, I really want to fly on the A345 before they're completely phased out. I know SQ,TG,EY also fly them but the routes those airlines use them on are insanely long.
I could have elite status if I wanted it, but flying the same airline all the time is boring.

Hey Byronicle!
Try and get a DL DC9 if you can, live a piece of history!
Also since we don't get any MD80s down this way maybe that could also be "different". Actually you could probably add 757 and any number of RJs (which are both dime a dozen over there) to that list as well!
Have a good trip
p.s. Having just looked at your dates we're going to be in the US at the same time, but on different flights this time around!!!

PLANNED 2012
June
Maybe a trip to Oklahoma for basketball camp but likely not. The football trip was delayed until next year. Maybe some trip to Europe with my dad for a meeting for him and then we would explore the city.
July
Planning Reykjavik-Akureyri-Grimsey-Vopnafjordur-Akureyri-Reykjavik-Isafjordur-Reykjavik on Air Iceland Dash 8-100, Air Iceland/Norlandair DHC6 Twin Otter and Air Iceland F50. Would get me the Twotter and I would finally add Isafjordur to my log! Also maybe taking Atlantic BAe 146 to Vagar, Faroe Islands or flying to Greenland to catch the Dash 7.
August
Maybe KEF-FRA-KEF, KEF-BRU-KEF or even (hopefuly ) KEF-XXX-LUX-XXX-KEF to see my uncle in Wincheringen across the Luxemburg border.
October
KEF-Florida-KEF in some way, maybe KEF-SFB-KEF but hopefully KEF-XXX-SRQ/TPA-XXX-KEF or even KEF-XXX-XXX-SRQ/TPA-XXX-XXX-KEF. I hope at least KEF-XXX-TPA/SRQ, SFB-KEF or vice-versa. PLANNED 2013/14/15
I know it's long until then but I can be very organized so sometime I plan very long ahead.
Our family has 4 places it wants to go to sometime in this time period. Egypt, Turkey, Granada and Oceania.
Probable routes
Egypt: Would probably be KEF-XXX-PRG-CAI/Sharm el Sheik/Hurghada r/t on FI, XX and Travel Service .
Turkey: Likely KEF-XXX-IST-AYT-IST-XXX-KEF on FI and likely Pegasus because their CEO is a good friend of my dad.
Granada: Some KEF-AMS-Granada-AMS-KEF on FI and Transavia would probably be the route.
Oceania: KEF-XXX-SIN-SYD-MEL-HOB-MEL-Uluru/Ayers Rock-PER-Christmas Island-PER-BNE-AKL-XXX-XXX-XXX-AKL-HKG-XXX-KEF is the way we have been planning, probably in December 13/14/15. My mom always has wanted to see Sing, Sydney and HK, I want to go to Tasmania, Ayers Rock, Christmas Island and something domestic in NZ because that is out of the ordinary for us, and Perth, Melbourne and Brisbane are places we would like to see because we probably won't go to Oceania again in the near future.

Here's the updated itinerary, just a couple of equipment changes on the LH flights, a flight number change for the TP flight and a slight schedule change for my Niki flight Fco-Vie. I'm sure there will be more schedule changes once the fall schedules come out, I've now gotten all the way to Mel. I've given up on the idea of going to India and China, too complicated to get visas. This should be an amazing trip if everything goes the way it should.

I've had a couple changes, so here are the updated flights.
Flown:
Jan 1: QF68 HKG 23:25 - 07:20+1 PER - A330-300 - VH-QPH
Feb 24: XR114 GET 08:45 - 09:55 PER - Fokker 50 - VH-FNA (new airline + new aircraft)
Booked:
April
DJ714 PER 09:15 - 13:35 ADL - Embraer 190 (new aircraft)
DJ228 ADL 15:10 - 17:00 MEL - 737-800
DJ675 MEL 06:15 - 08:35 PER - 737-800
June
SQ226 PER 15:55 - 21:20 SIN - A330-300
SQ26 SIN 23:25 - 06:00+1 FRA - A380-800
LH860 FRA 10:10 - 12:05 OSL - A320 (first A320 flight with LH)
SK4094 OSL 15:50 - 17:30 EVE - 737-800
July
SK4079 EVE 06:45 - 08:30 OSL - 737-700
SK4755 OSL 11:20 - 13:30 FRA - 737-500
SQ325 FRA 22:00 - 16:15+1 - 777-300ER
SQ213 SIN 20:00 - 01:10+1 - A330-300
Only odd thing is that my flight from FRA to OSL was on an earlier flight with SK, but for some reason SK changed me to the LH flight without even noticing me, I just realized the change when I went onto manage my booking (nor was the SK departure cancelled). Anyway, I am happy about the change, more time to enjoy FRA lounge, less time in lounge less OSL domestic pier, and a flight on LH A320 which will be a new combination (I've flown LH and the A320 plenty, but not an LH A320).
New flights added because of heavy loads on EWR flights:
Delta Air Lines, flt 401, Newark - Atlanta Hartsfield, 319, Standby
Delta Connection, flt 5333, Newark - Atlanta Hartsfield, CR7, Standby
Delta Air Lines, flt 151, Atlanta Hartsfield - Lima Callao, 763, Standby

Yes, YYZ-LGA on WS and LGA-DFW-LAX on AA. Unfortunately no really unusual aircraft like the 757/717 or MD 80/83 as flight times weren't right or were far too expensive but will be getting to a few new airports and trying a few new airlines which will be good.

Quoting qf002 (Reply 275): We would have been in the terminal at almost the same time! I flew QF1422 to SYD, got there just before 1pm...
Wow really?!
If you got there at 1 then I guess you missed the scenes of death and destruction at CBR that morning...
I was supposed to fly CBR-SYD-BNE leaving at 8:30, but mother nature had other plans. The airport was fog bound meaning that every flight was delayed/cancelled. At 8am I waited 40 minutes for a coffee and that was when the queue was "short"!!!
Quoting qf002 (Reply 275): what are you doing in North Carolina for 5 months? Looks like a fun trip
I'm going on exchange to the University of North Carolina for Semester 2, which I am SOOOO excited for!!!
I was originally planning a grand tour of North America, possibly taking in Mexico and Guatemala as well, either for June/July or December/January but given that I went to Ecuador the long round in January I finally resigned myself to the fact that I can't afford it right now, which is a shame but that's the way it is.
I am still going to go to HK and UK to see family and friends. After all, I don't have to pay for any accommodation there and the flights to NC were so expensive anyway that the incremental cost was low enough to make it worth while.
The only bit which is up in the air is getting from London to Greensboro on August 11. Unfortunately AA's presence in the South East is underwhelming compared to DL, US and even UA meaning that I will have to go through DFW if I decide to fly to GSO. That's quite a significant detour! I might just fly LHR-RDU and get the train to Greensboro, in fact the more I think about it the more logical this seems...

Only a few flights so far this calendar year:
1 Jan AKL-WLG
31 Mar WLG-ZQN
4 Apr ZQN-WLG
6 Apr WLG-AKL
9 Apr WLG-ZQN
17 Apr DUD-WLG
Scheduled:
30 Apr WLG-AKL
2 May AKL-WLG
8 May WLG-CHC-WLG
6 Oct WLG-SYD-DFW
7 Oct DFW-DCA (planned, not booked)
10 Oct DCA-DFW (planned, not booked)
24 Oct DFW-MSY (not booked but going)
28 Oct MSY-DFW (not booked but going)
1 Nov DFW-BNE-SYD-WLG
15 Nov WLG-AKL-NAN
20 Nov NAN-AKL-WLG
The DFW-WLG leg could be changed for business reasons to go through MUC, IST and SIN to visit clients and attend conferences. Still trying to get that worked out. And there will probably be a flight to SYD or BNE flown in for a quick weekend break. And a couple work trips.

Wow, I didn't realise it had been that bad. I guess it was a bit busier than usual, but all the flights at that time of day on a Friday are usually full anyway so I didn't think anything of it...
