Whoever wants to go to SXM, has €310 per person and time between Nov 11th- Dec 15th/Jan 1st- Feb 16th/March 8th - April 5th/May 3rd - June 20th to spare, is well advised to frequent the Air Caraibes website and have a look at their current promotion. Deal expires Nov 20th, tickets on offer seem to be limited.

Wow, I might actually book this for April. Paris to St Martin 620 EUR for 2 passengers. This is an amazing fare.

That is a fantastic deal.

Does anyone know how the weather is like in April and June?

It is indeed. Too bad I could only put it into this scarcely frequented sub-section of the forums.

I book tickets for friends and family all the time and have hardly come across fares for Europe- SXM below €600 per person, so slashing that by half is quite the bargain. Air Berlin sometimes sells seats to the Caribbean from DUS for

Sir, you are a genius and I shall thank you forever for posting this link! I just booked the offer for next April. The price is simply amazing, 2.3 Cents (Eur) per km flown, that is even below the occasional super cheap Ryanair fare. SXM here I come, can't wait to go to Maho beach with the widebodies doing crazy final approaches over my head. Life is wonderful!

No problem man and I'm glad I could help you out. I booked myself and a friend on this for March of next year and pay about €390 from door to door. After booking my parents on FRA-SIN-FRA for €380 round trip per person, this is hands down the second best offer I've dug out in a while.

Air Berlin sometimes throws out €100 round trips to the Caribbean but they offer zero flexibility. It's usually ''book today, fly tomorrow, and come back on a given day''. Which is what made this offer so special.. you can book far in advance AND actually find the promoted fares.

Bon voyage man!

St Maarten hotels are either ridiculously expensive, or ridiculously small and dirty. If you are tight on money, I'd strongly recommend you to find a new bed and breakfast accomodation. It's small and simple, but very cheap.

If you can however raise the funds, I'd suggest you try either of those

I'm staying in the latter because luckily my travel partner qualifies for certain employee discounts from his mother's job.

You should also ask yourself what you are there for. The French side has nicer beaches and cheaper hotels, but is far away from Maho Beach. If you don't go for spotting only, you should look into this.

Have you ever considered starting your own business as a travel agent ?   Is this offer still available ?

Unfortunately, it isn't. It was a promotion fare when SQ announced replacing their 747s with A380s on the SIN-FRA-JFK-FRA-SIN flight. Round trips FRA-SIN-FRA as well as FRA-JFK-FRA were sold for a symbolic €380. It's not a very good deal for FRA-JFK-FRA, but a killer offer to go to SIN.

But QR recently had FRA-DOH-SIN-DOH-FRA on offer for €336, just that the times were really bad and you had to try really hard to actually find this deal. When the SQ offer was up, you'd just have to open the schedule and you could see that literally everyday was marked 'yellow', promotion fare.

There are a lot of ways to save money, but most of them consider quite a bit of flexibility on the traveller's part. A friend of mine is going to Tokyo for €240 round trip, but will have to fly EasyJet to Rome, switch airports, then Aeroflot via Moscow to Narita, then returns on Aeroflot Narita-Moscow-Paris and goes back home on the train and bus from there. It's good if you're adventurous, but would simply not work for me. I would have much rather spent €200 more and flown FRA-NRT on the LH A388 and back home on the (by then instated) HND-FRA NH 788. But everybody has very different preferences and perfectionist that I am, I'd spent days to make every trip I book the perfect match and would be bankrupt rather quickly. So to make a long story short, the travel agent business would not be very well suited for me lol

Yeah I will probably also stay at the Sonesta Maho beach. Hey, ask your friend if he would like to share that discount with me too

It's very good for SXM, but cheap Caribbean deals come up every now and then.

Aruba: from €549
Curacao: from €499
Mexico: from €459
Florida: from €418

Alas, departure dates have to be between end of November and mid December, and from what I understand are always 9 days long. Also, departures are from AMS only which I find to be harder to get to than Paris though that's obviously subjective.
