Greetings!

I am going on my first official mileage run next Friday to achieve Platinum Medallion status via a quick MSP-ATL round-trip. I have only been to ATL once before on a FL connection many many years ago and need some help:

Does anyone have any opinions or ides about which SkyClubs I should hit while I am there? I am a member and will have a 2 hour or so layover and would like to check out two or three, but certainly not all nine of them. Also, how much time does it take to get from concourse to concourse?

Quite honestly, the only thing I remember about ATL were the little glass rooms where people could smoke cigarettes.

Any thoughts/ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Tram rides between concourses are frequent and a minute or 2 apart....and a surprisingly easy walk if you opt to not wait for the next tram.
SkyClubs in T, A and E are large and roomy but busy. I like E the best for viewing and other than the afternoon/evening international push, is not overly crowded at other times.
An abundance of eating establishments if you get hungry during your turnaround.
Enjoy your ride and quick visit to Hartsfield.
Thomas
P.S. I am hoping to make Diamond by Dec31 but pushing the limits to do a mileage run with 3 solid weeks of travel left in the month and presently 8 segments booked. We're nuts for those MQM's aren't we? I do however like, and appreciate, the perks!

watch what you want. you may get it.

Thank you so much for the info Thomas! I really appreciate it!

I'm going to hit the Club in E for sure . . . and I agree that the perks are worth it!

I was in ATL yesterday, and one of the SkyClubs on Concourse E is temporarily closed for refurbishment.

Definitely depends on the day of the week and the time of the day. I've been in the one at the centerpoint of A on a Wednesday afternoon and while some areas of it were busy, I was in a seating area off to the side (with an excellent view of the ramp as well as the gate I was departing from) and it was not bad at all. Back in June, I visited the one at T-6 prior to my flight one morning and it was somewhat dead in there at 8am on a Friday. I guess if you're there during a push, the clubs are more likely to be crowded than in between them.

That would be the one at E-15, going off of the Sky Club locations page on the Delta website (The one on C is also temporarily closed for renovations [Wasn't that one just opened a few years ago? If so, it seems odd to be renovating it already unless they kept the interior looking like it did when it was the Eastern Ionosphere Club.].).

I should be in ATL on Friday 12/9 from 1230 to 1430. Does that help?

With my two favorite ones (E15 and C) being closed, my rule would be to go to the one closest to your gate with the caveat of avoiding the B Clubs.

T6 tends to be pretty quiet and has some nice windows overlooking the complex.

E14 will be a zoo with E15 closed.

The new D club is pretty nice and has always been quiet when I've gone there.

I have not been to the new A17 but I've heard it's a bit nicer. A Centerpoint I believe is now open on weekends as well.

Oh no! Or, oh yes! It's been a few weeks since I was in ATL, and it was open then - it is being renovated into the new ultra-blue scheme like the others?
