"American Airlines frequent-fliers can earn elite status twice as fast on flights between Dec. 13 and Jan. 31, the carrier announced this morning.

AA says it is awarding double elite-qualifying miles (EQMs) – miles that count toward earning elite status – to all passengers on most paid flights through the end of January."
