Have any of you guys here flown on the defunct Malaysia-Singapore Airlines or have any experiences or pictures to share on this bi-national airline? Any accounts would be appreciated.

I'd never even heard of this airline until I Googled it. It went dead in 1972, before I was born. So, no I haven't flown them! LOL

Probably in my previous life. :P Haha just joking.

It would be interesting to see how MSA is like as all the info I have now is their fleet and livery. Wonder if their service is as good as MH + SQ now.

One way I will fly around the world!

It would not be fair to compare a 1972 airline with today's airlines.
It should be compared to airline standards of the same era.

SQ inherited their "12" Boeing customer code from MSA.

MSA was also one of only 3 original customers for the 737-100 (along with 737 launch customer LH and AV).

Yeap, even in Sg most people my age don't know about MSA. After Malaysia and Singapore split in 1965 they continued to have one airline and they were fine with it that way but both sides had different focuses for the airline so they decided to seperate.

Havent seen cabin photos yet except for a video I found on youtube, but I imagine it would be better back then. Airlines weren't all packed in during those times. I remember seeing pics of United in the 60s and it was amzing. There was even a lounge in Economy!

I'm glad SQ went with deep blue and gold instead lol. Did you fly MSA?
