Is Air Asia X still a low-cost airline ?
I ask the question because for travel on and from April 1, Air Asia X is introducing a new tariff structure for its LGW-KUL service. According to this article, starting next April it will now be more expensive to fly Air Asia X from LGW on this route in Y class than it is to take MAS from LHR. I wonder who is prepared to pay Air Asia X GBP850 for a LGW-KUL return ?

I think the answer is that no self respecting passenger would endure an A343 with 9 abreast and a loco attitude for more than the price of a full service return. I wish I'd flown it at £198rtn...

Their horrendous configuration on their airplanes makes it a LCC in my book. 9 abreast on an Airbus is the narrowest configuration on any airplane.
High prices and minimal service and uncomfortable interiors usually do not go hand in hand. However there were cases when airlines like Ryanair and Easyjet could have higher fares than BMI. And in the US Southwest certainly does not have the lowest fares in all the markets it serves.
If you have never designed an airplane part before, let the real designers do the work!

You are correct. The point is that who would book with Air Asia X at these prices ? I wonder if it signals the end of Air Asia X on the London route ?
