Hi guys, not sure if this is the right part of the forum to ask but here goes.
Tomorrow I'll be flying to DTW where i'll have a 3 hour layover. Can anyone tell me how one gets from the McNamara Terminal (concourses A, B and C) to the North Terminal (concourse D) at DTW? And is there a way to do it without having to leave security and having to re-enter again?
I really like the restaurants in concourse D better than in A, B and C... I do not have a flight at the North Terminal at all, only at the McNamara terminal...

This topic should probably go to Travel Polls & Preferences, but I'll reply anyway:
I'm pretty sure you can get from the McNamara Terminal to the North Terminal without leaving the airside area. Which means you won't be able to get into the North Terminal, since you don't have a Boarding Pass for a flight departing from there.
But doesn't have the (much bigger) McNamara Terminal a lot more food options then the North Terminal anyway?

well, the north terminal has TGI Friday's and Ruby Tuesdays which both happen to be my favorites. The Chili's in the Concourse A/B/C terminals doesn't even have a full menu...
I figured with 3 hours there'd be plenty of time to go through security even if need be. I'm just not sure if they'll somehow let me into the North Terminal without a boarding pass.

As far as I know, there is no way to get from one terminal to the other without leaving the secure zone. As for getting from one terminal to the other, I don't know of any way to do so unless you take a rental car shuttle. You probably won't be allowed to enter the North Terminal past security since you don't have a boarding pass to fly from that terminal.

According to this, there's a shuttle that links the McNamara and North Terminals every seven minutes. Based on the diagram (and since it serves the Westin), I presume it's landside.

Reading back my own reply I see that I made a typo. I off course meant CAN'T.
