Credit On Non-refundable Europe Tickets

Hey gang,

Question. If you book a non refundable ticket to Europe on a US carrier and have to cancel--generally speaking can the credit (less the exchange fee, of course) be used domestically within the states? I've seen some conflicting info on this.

If you actually get credit, with a non refundable, yes, it can be used with that airline to where ever you please, from where you please.
