Hi all,

Do you know about some good flightlog sites? Here are the ones I've tried, would like to try some more before I settle to one:

www.flightmemory.com
www.flightdiary.net
www.openflights.org
www.flightlog.com
www.airfleets.net

Any more?

Rgds,
Sveinn

Edit: Other option would be to use all of them, but then I still would want more sites, so....

Best option: Take the bits you like from all of them and log flights in your own spreadsheet. Add paths to a Google Earth file to either represent routes you have flown either in the great circle method or as you actually flew them. The latter is especially relevant if you use a GPS tracker as you can download the data into GE and get a precise 3D route map.

Yeah, that's a good idea. Only downside is you have to import overall statistics yourself, but I will probably do this, maybe along with the websites.

I'm loyal to Flightmemory.com. It's simple, user friendly, and basically offers all that I want. I keep a simplified version of my log on Flightmemory. I.e. A Boeing 737-800 will just be 737-800. In my own excel sheet however, I log the subversion as well (e.g. 737-8K2) and I also log technical details as the engines, winglets, age and the year the plane was built.

I use OpenFlights exclusively after using FlightMemory for a while. While I was able to log my flights, it didn't graph them on the map, which was a major impetus for me to move. Plus OpenFlights is open-source, and the map's zoomable!

I have been using Flightmemory for a while now and like it very much. I've tried Flightdiary because it computes a few statistics that Flightmemory does not, but I find it extremely limited as all airlines and airports you wish to enter must already be present in their database (which is missing numerous small operators and airfields).

I use flightmemory, but have also used FlightDiary in the past. like the above poster, I liked how it had a few more statistics offered than Flightmemory. Openflights looks interesting though, and the map look good (one thing I don't really like a bout Flightmemory)

For the moment my flightlog is a grid on a paper. I have a flightmemory account with only a few flights added, but I'm too lazy to complete all the data

I like the layout of FlightDiary. Simple and easy to use. Only downside is it doesn't compensate for time zones when adding flights. For example ADL-SYD is 1 hour and 55 minutes, however the departure time is 6am and arrival 8.25am (1/2 time difference). FlightDiary takes this as a 2:25hr flight.

Yes, it does. Perhaps you fly in a market where someone didn't attach the right time zone to some airports, but I have never had the issue you describe. All my flight duration numbers account for time difference in their computation.

I forgot to mention, openflights is great at importing and exporting to/from excel. A great advantage!
Also, the guys that run the site are extremely quick in replying to suggestions and fixing errors.

I was on Flightdiary but it doesn't give me the control I like, so I've created my own. It's pretty simple to do with a bit of PHP/MySQL/Java and some charts, here is mine:

Stats: http://www.aviationphotos.co.uk/index.php/my-flights
List of flights: http://www.aviationphotos.co.uk/index.php/flights-list

Cheers
