I've noticed that several American airlines (particularly those whose pages are *ahem* boiling over with hate) have little groupies on their Facebook pages (I'm looking at you, AA, UA, US) that berate customers, making it look like whatever problem is the customer's fault.
It surprises me, yet in some ways it doesn't, that any airline would fall to this kind of low. Any thoughts?
(I don't intend to offend anyone who works for any particular airline that does this, please don't flame me for it!)

I doubt the airline has people doing this for them. I comment on the things people say on United and American's facebook pages when I am really bored, and I have no affiliation with either carrier. Its not that I am a groupie, it's just that I like UA and AA, and I really hate stupid people. It usually is their fault anyway...

I agree. I often visit UA, B6 and DL's pages on Facebook and most of the complaints just make me go
" you better should lower the prices and extend the seat space, instead of making senseless and useless makeovers to probably raise the prices again. Who the hell cares what the tray is made of or what lid your nasty food has...!"
"Yet AA answers customer questions promptly and not from India. I should have booked them."
I often find myself defending UA, B6 and DL but it seems like Delta has the most complaints from what I've seen.

I often peruse the Porter Airlines fb page to witness how many people think a Q400 has no range...
Example from this week alone:
"hey porter ever tought of making it big by expanding into asia?"
"Hey Porter ever thing of opening a hub here in the Caribbean Since LIAT sucks @ Caribbean Travel and the best place for ur Hub will be in ST.KITTS/NEVIS i know u will make it big time"
"Hey Porter! just wondering why you fly Toronto to Halifax, but not Toronto to Calgary?"
Another one I see a lot is people bitching at WestJet about their seats being "downgraded" despite it being a single-class airline.

Not that I go on those fb pages, but some of us in life have little time or tolerance for ignorant people with no concept of reality- and have no problem correcting/putting them in their place. It stands to reason that there are fb people who also fit this personality trait.

I have occasionally chimed in on AS/QX's pages just for the reasons stated above. I'm not a groupie, but just a person with a low tolerance for blatant stupidity. Of course I've never made hostile remarks towards costumers, that is certainly not my place.
