Dear all,

I am One World Sapphire but I am really looking forward to swtich big part of my flights to Star due to relocation of my origen city.

My question how common is to get a status match from a different airlines?

I am Lan Pass member with Sapphire status and would like to have a Star Gold status. I am looking specially to OnePass as big part of my future flights will be on Copa Airlines.

What other airlines I could approach?

thank you
Avianca

Status has to be provided by an airline and not an alliance, so while you have Oneworld Sapphire priveledges, you are a member of Lan Pass and an elite flyer with them. An airline has no desire to match your status so that you benefit on the entire alliance if you don't fly them. They want you to fly on them and take you from the competition. Carriers within an alliance will even match status (US and UA for example will match each other's status if you prove to them that you are switching allegiance due to relocation or new job). If you relocated from a city where LAN's presence dictated your travel needs and now you have a legitimate reason to fly Copa, then write in to Copa. If you are in Colombia, then Copa might be willing to offer you status, but I doubt other Star Airlines like United would have any interest.

If you have never designed an airplane part before, let the real designers do the work!

thanks for the info, well in fact I am relocating to CCS and I will use in fact a lot of Copa and Copa Colombia in the near future... problem is that Copa has not an own program its United... Already send them an e-mail lets see what they will say.
