Your Longest Unbroken Strand Of Flights

I wasn't exactly sure how to phrase this question, so let me explain. What is the most flights you have taken consecutively where you always departed from the airport at which you last landed. For example if you flew LHR-ATL-DEN-ORD, then MDW-LGA-CLT, and finally ATL-LHR that would count as three separate stands, the longest of which is obviously LHR-ATL-DEN-ORD. These do not have to be a part of a single trip and the flights could be months apart as long as the airport from which you departed was the same as the one you landed on your previous flight. Hopefully that made some sense.

Mine is: SMF-SNA-SMF-OGG-KOA-OGG-SMF-PHL-MHT-PHL-SMF-IAH-DAL-DAL-DEN-SMF-MSP-TPA-MIA-ATL-SMF-PHX-SMF-PHX-SMF-ONT-SMF

I've once done 37 domestic flights in Norway in 6 days. It was going to be 100 but I got sick after 5 days.

Plus I've done tons of flights in the glider which all came back to the same airport that my next flight departed from, but I'm pretty sure it's not as many as 37 in a row.

Seems to be JFK-OTP-(about 150 segments)-DTW-MCI from January 2000 to August 2009. Mostly pretty boring. Living in Kansas City, what other airport could I have used? Back when I lived in Bucharest there weren't (many) flights out of the secondary airport, and even if there would have been, I tend to use full service airlines.

Flew in to LGA and out of MDW before/after this strand.

My longest is MAN-SIN-AKL-PMR-WLG-AKL-SIN-ZRH-MAN in 5 days back in 2006. Very tiring and expensive

Second longest run was in 2000, I did LHR-YYZ-MIA-MCO-ATL-MCO-YYZ-LHR, not as far though and over the space of a week.

I depart from and arrive at a different UK airport on practically every trip I take these days, so recently I don't have a very long string 7 or 8 airports at the most. That and I have a habit of taking overland sections when I am abroad. So my longest is actually pretty boring as it comes from a time when I wasn't responsible for my routings:

LHR-BCN-MAH-BCN-LHR-BCN-MAH-BCN-LHR-BCN-MAH-BCN-LHR-BCN-MAH-BCN-LHR-BCN-MAH-MAD-LHR-BCN-MAH-BCN-LHR-BCN-MAH-LHR etc... you probably get the idea. Five years of unbroken LHR-BCN-MAH and return routings on Iberia three times a year or more, with the very occasional trip via MAD thrown in.

If I read the OP's post correctly, my strand might be much longer than I think:

MNL-NRT-DTW-PIT-DTW-LAX-MEM-PIT-DTW-MSP-NRT-MNL-NRT-DTW-PIT-DTW-NGO-MNL-CEB-NRT-CEB-MNL-SIN-MNL-CEB-MNL-CEB-ILO-MNL-CRK-MNL-ILO-MNL-HKG-MNL-SIN-MNL-MRQ-MNL-AMS-TXL-AMS-MNL-CAN-CDG-DUS-GDN-CPH-AMS-PEK-XMN-CEB-MNL-HKG-MNL-CAN-MNL-AMS-OTP-TLV-OTP-AMS-MNL-AMS-WAW-LHR-WAW-BUD-WAW-AMS-WAW-CDG-WAW-CDG-DTW-PIT-DTW-AMS-WAW-HEL, all from April 2007 to just last week. This was broken because I took the train to TKU instead of flying on a plane.

The "strand" should restart with the following:

TKU-TLL-RIX-VNO-WAW-MXP-JFK-FCO-VIE-WAW-PRG-WAW-DUB-WAW, which will be added in by WAW-AMS-LYS-CDG-WAW, with some filler flights (most likely to BRU/CRL, but still undecided).

September 2010 until August 2011 with many many flights

And before that there might have been an even longer run... I don't know...

In September that line broke when I flew into LAX and then departed from VCV and in August 2011 it was when I flew into ORD and continued from MDW...

My longest is too long to list. Between 20 August 2001 and 31 December 2004 my string is 467 flights. The string broke with landing at SZX and departing at CAN. My second longest string is 286 flights long and is still ongoing.

What a great question! My longest strand is probably shorter than it could be, because I like to do open jaws to get more airports in. My longest with no break probably is:

LAX-PHX-DTW-BHM-MEM-IAH-DTW-IND-MSP-PHX-LAX

My ultimate destination was IAH, but during that trip, I made a short flights strand within that week, in order to fly on Great Plains Airlines. That strand was AUS-TUL-OKC-DAL-AUS

Unusual question, I never wondered about that but it's an interesting reason to check my logbook.
Lately my strings are short because just to get on as many types and airlines as possible, cities/areas with multiple airports like London, Miami, Tehran, Shanghai, Buenos Aires or Vilhelmina/Lycksele ruin these strings.
I found a few strings with more then 18 flights:
In 1995-1996:

Not sure if I get it, but if I have to start and end with the same airports my longest streak is LGA-YUL-YQB-YUL-LGA-BOS-LGA-BOS-LGA-DCA-LGA-ATL-ACA-ATL-LGA. There are a bunch of times I've done ROC-DTW-LGA/JFK-ROC and if you include those it would be much longer

My longest one ex-JFK is JFK*-LAS-JFK-LHR-JFK-LHR-AMS-LHR-JFK-AUA-JFK (*while in LAS I did a scenic tour flight thing out of VGT...that wasn't exactly scheduled so I let it slide).

Ex-ROC is slightly longer: ROC-LGA-DCA-ROC-ATL-LGA-DTW-ROC-JFK-SAN-ATL-ROC

For EWR-AVL, I was ticketed to GSP, but our SEA-EWR plane got stuck in a pothole upon arrival (yes, you did read that correctly, a pothole) and we missed our connecting flight to GSP.

Now, if I had made my connection that day, it would have continued: EWR-GSP-IAD-DTW, and lasted until July 2005

I have no idea how many segments that is (I didn't count while typing)! To start this string I had arrived in PDX, then drove up to YYJ. To end it, I arrived in YYJ and drove to YYC! All segments were flown as a passenger.

Thanks for all the interesting responses guys! Just to add some detail, this strand started when I flew SMF-SJC on QX and drove back and should end this May when I fly MCC-AUN with my prom date

Wow!!! how do you guys do this kind of thing? Is it for work or what?

I also didn't understand the question at first... it doesn't have to be one trip, I think that you think that. If someone only flies CGK-DPS and return every year, in 50 years also a huge string builds up. But it would break if you take the boat from Bali to Lombok and then fly back to CGK, for instance.

nobody has ever died from hard work, but why take the risk?

My longest is 55, done over a period of about seven months. It started on a return voyage with JFK (it broke a streak of 42 that ended with LGA) and also included ATL, OKC, DEN, PHX, MCI, LAX, SFO, STL, DFW, JAN, and LAS. I also had a mini-streak of 4 before my current one of 12.

I've flown with Charlie I, Buddy, Earl, Carl I, Lucy II, Fritz, Stretch, L.J., Thunder, Flip, André, and 19 others

There was a time back in 2009-2010 when I was flying up to Oregon on my employer's corporate shuttle more or less once a week, so I have a strand that goes MHR-HIO-MHR-HIO... for about 40 or so flights (There's one or two MHR-SJC-HIO-SJC-MHR trips thrown in there as well). The strand was broken when I took a vacation and flew out of SMF.
