Hello everyone,

As part of a marketing project at Christopher Newport University in Newport News, Virginia, I am part of a team of students tasked with formulating improvements to the branding and market strategy of SkyMall, the shopping magazine often found in airline seatback pockets. If you have a few minutes of time, I would very much appreciate it if you could answer several opinion-based questions at the following link regarding this research. I also encourage you to add any additional comments and suggestions you have regarding SkyMall to this thread.

Thank you very much for your help! We certainly appreciate any and all feedback you are able to provide.

Best regards,

It's interesting that you didn't include an income variable with the other demographics. I also recommending having a gender option beyond the standard binary.

Was this study approved by the Institutional Review Board?

How about questions about frequency of taking the skymall catalog when leaving the plane? Frequency of visits to the skymall website.

If your protocol allows, do share your aggregate findings and any recommendations from the research.

Done, but I would follow the above post by saying requiring people to include their gender and race seems a bit in poor taste. Those types of things are never required, and understandably so.

Best of luck with your research! Having been there not too long ago, I know what you're going through!

Cheers,
Cameron

Done. A very well put-together survey.

Your statement would be true in a society ripe with overbearing political correctness. But market research is paramount for businesses studying any range of market dynamics for their product/service, and gender and race aren't exclusive of that.

Thanks for the responses and the encouragement, everyone!

I certainly appreciate the comments and the feedback, and I will be happy to report back our general findings after my team and I compile the results. We are up to 105 responses so far, and I'm glad to see that number continuing to rise.

Thanks again!
