I am looking at going to the US in August to visit my Mother in OKC.
Much to my surprise, ex-SZG, LH has some very attractive offers in Y including 1105$ SZG-FRA-IAH-OKC-IAH-FRA-SZG. That includes a trip on the A388 FRA-IAH-FRA and is rather appealing. I would be quite interested to hear some opinions. I tried a search in Trip Reports but couldn't find much. I would much rather go SZG-VIE-IAD-OKC but since I am paying for this one, I cannot justify the additional 400€.
Any other suggestions SZG(MUC)-OKC are certainly welcome.
The dates are 21 August (or there abouts) to 4 September (or there about)
Edit: I'd gladly do MUC-PHL-ORD-OKC again on US and UA, but checking the US Website, I cannot find a reasonable price.

I flew with LH from JFK to FRA with the a380 in Y last summer and I enjoyed everything exept the AVOD box which IMO were placed in the wrong place. My dad who's not into aviation at all thought that the a380 experience was something special aswell.
It's better to be in the air wishing you were on the ground than being on the ground wishing you were in the air

I flew the LX A380 to JNB last summer. As the others have said, it was ok. A huge improvement on the horrible 744s they flew with cramped hard seats and no PTV but not in the same league as the SQ A380 I also flew. But compared to another of your possible routings using US, I'd go LH
Next Flights: EI DUB-LHR A320, BA LHR-SFO B744, UA SFO-LAS A320, BA LAS-LHR B744, EI LHR-DUB A320

Quoting PlaneHunter (Reply 3): LH's A380 product is nice, but don't expect too much. Here are two reports:

I've done the 744 on RTs to DEN twice now. I can live without PTV.
Admittedly, it is pretty difficult to get over someone when the seat in front is all the way down.
