UA 757 Flying BOS-EWR

While browsing flights between BOS-DTW on UA, I found a route that had me going BOS-EWR-DTW, with the BOS-EWR segment on a 757-200. The first segment departs BOS at 0611, so I'm wondering if they're just taking an aircraft from a west coast redeye and revenue ferry flight to EWR. Does anyone have an explanation for this? Any word on if its UA or CO metal?
