I'm after a little advice if I may for arriving at JFK with KLM for a trip to New York in June. I believe we'll be arriving at Terminal 4 and I'm wanting to book an airport transfer from the airport in to Manhattan for our group of 5. Our flight is scheduled to arrive at 1530 so I was wondering how long I should allow for collecting bags, immigration etc for the pick up in arrivals? Being used to smaller airports and having never been through US immigration, I was thinking of allowing 2 hours so quoting ~1730 for the pick-up time? Would this be ok or do you think I should allow more time, or is it too much? I'll be flying back with Delta, again T4 at 1635 so I was going to allow 3 hours for check-in, immigration etc on the return flight. Any advice would be gratefully received.
Thanks,
Darren

Assuming your non us citizens, I would say to leave an hour at most. Even that is a lot of time. Immigration will take maybe 20-30 minutes MAX, and your luggage will be waiting for you, and as long as you have nothing to declare, customs Will be quick as well. I would say to allow 45 minutes to one our. Give the car company your fligh info, and they'll wait for you, if it takes longer, but just make sure to call and let them know how long it will be.
On the return, I would be at the airport about 2 and a half to 3 hours before, so your fine with your timing on the way back to JFK. Enjoy your trip!
Thanks very much for that. I'll allow about an hour then after disembarking and take it from their. We're non-US nationals with nothing to declare so everything will go smoothly hopefully. You hear all sorts of horror stories about it taking hours to get through so though it best I ask!

Well I'm only taking cabin baggage so won't have to worry about waiting around for bags. Ive not got any concrete plans so no big deal if it takes 5 hours to get out! Although id rather it didn't take that long...
