I'll be making one final trip from the east coast US to HKG and back. On the 744 I've never been in business class but did plenty of trips in E and E+. I did the trip in biz on CO and liked the product.
My questions are, does anyone have any preference toward either the biz product on the 744 or the 772? What are my chances of sitting in the upper deck if I went on the 744 (would like to do that before I don;t have the chance?
If it makes any difference, I plan on upgrading with the $600 & 30,000 miles each way and I'm Star Alliance Gold.

Agreed. What I really want to do is get a seat on the upper deck of the 744. I suppose I should have originally asked if I had a realistic chance of getting one of those seats considering I'm traveling on the upgrade ticket and I'm only Gold in the mileage department, so no confirmation until 48 hours out. This will probably be the last time I fly this route with the chance of being in biz class...

For the upper deck question, if C class seats are avail there, sure you can pick one.
Thanks, I read that thread as well, but was not sure how the ex-CO 772's compared to the 744. Looks like there is 50 seats on the 772 vs 52 on the 744 with the 744 having F class as well.
