So bmi's Diamiond Club wil soon be no more. Which is the best alternative Star Alliance FFP to sign up to in its place?

Perhaps a noob question, but is there any difference between Star Alliance FFP? I mean you can earn miles on any of them and redeem as well. Is there any true difference between say LH Miles and More and SQ KrisFlyer?

Well, probably SAS EuroBonus. You can get Star Silver at 20k. Miles&Less starts that at 30k...

It all depends which airlines you mainly fly with, whether you normally fly econ/biz, where your home airport is, what benefits do you want to get etc? Give some more info and I'll try to help

Aegean Airlines if you only want status . Only 20K for Gold.

For a decent mix of both earn and burn then Turkish Airlines 25K to renew Gold in a year or 37.5 over two years with a chance to buy 10K status miles in the second year for €300 . So 27.5 over two years and €300 .

If your currently BD Gold sending a PDF format of your recent BD statement and Gold card will get you a status match.

Quoting OA260 (Reply 4):

Most fare classes don't apply on that one though. EG on Lufthansa, I think only full fare earns miles on A3.

Quoting LOWS (Reply 5):

Not true . A LHR-FRA-ATH for example earns 2K roundtrip in W ,V,S Class which is still a decent enough low fare.
A LHR-FRA-LIN would earn the same. Even Economy discounted fare basis in Q and V earn 100% miles with UA.

Maybe take a look at the earning charts again   Ive done my math .
