I recently saw a KLM fare from LAX-IST for $463. However my loyalty lies to a Star Alliance carrier. Will some Star carrier eventually match this price, or should I start building my never expiring Delta miles?

Quoting anyong (Thread starter): I recently saw a KLM fare from LAX-IST for $463.
Did you find that recently on skyscanner.net? I believe they are having some problems, I was finding PHX-AMS fares (showing as KLM, obviously Delta) for $600 even though the prices have been $1000+ lately. When you're redirected to klm.com, however, you see the actual price...

It was on Kayak. The travel dates were from 11/14-11/20, however I checked again and it was around $800, which United had matched. I should have pounced on that KLM fare.

It wouldn't surprise me if it was something similar as to what I saw on skyscanner, I asked them what was going on and they replied the following:
The prices we show on Skyscanner for KLM are supplied by their systems. On Sunday, we found a problem with the prices they were supplying, which didn’t include a mandatory fuel surcharge. As soon as we realised this issue, we removed their prices from Skyscanner until this could be fixed to try and minimise the impact on our users. Unfortunately, it seems that you were one of a number of users who saw the incorrect prices before we were able to remove them.

Interesting. It must have been a total system failure for KLM considering that I also saw LAX-LHR at $511 r/t. If and when airlines makes mistakes, can a customer take advantage of the unusually low fare?
