Who's Operated Most Variety Of Aircraft?

My guessing is Air France, off the top of my head alone they've operated;
A300, A310, A318, A319, A320, A321, A330, A340, A380.
B707?, B727, B737-200/500, B747-200(200f)/400(400f) B777-200/300
E-145, E-170, E-190
RJ-85, Concorde, Caravelle, ATRs,

As I've stated that list is off the top of my head ( I may have missed some and a/c type may have operated in AF colours under another airline?)

I'm also guessing only Lufthansa gets this close??   

Please feel free to rip my theory to shreds if I've overlooked any other airline or a/c type in the AF fleet!!

I would think KLM would be right up there. They have been around longer than anyone so they have been flying A LOT of different planes over the years. I remember reading a KLM inflight magazine back in 2008 and it they were bragging how they flew every type of Douglass airliner, which I thought was rather impressive.

The Embraer types, RJ-85, and ATRs are operated by AF regional partner carriers with their own operating certificates, not by AF themselves.

It depends on how far back you go, and whether you incoude airlies that were absorbed into the airline. And whether you go back to the pre jet age...
In more modern times, AF have operated the 767 200 and 300 so that's another type. Air Inter had the unique Mercure, while UTA operated the DC8, DC10 and 747-300

I would think Aeroflot would be the winner, buying each model of every Soviet manufacturer, and then more recently Airbus and Boeing models.

Apart from that, going back to the start of the Jet Age, and not counting submodels, I think UA would be tops. I'll count the current fleet, the historic fleet of UA but not the fleet of it's precedessor airlines, such as CO (and spare the semantics here), and not the fleets of regional carriers.
UA: Caravelle, 707 720 727 737 747 757 767 777, DC-8, DC-10, L1011, A320
Throw in the Viscount if you want to include that as "Jet Age", but go even further if you want the variety of piston types -- the DC models, Convairs -- still operating in the 50s and 60s, etc.

DL should be high, too, but misses the Boeing 707/720 but includes the CV 880.

I took the liberty of including TI in the sample of aircraft flown, which in fact did use the Dart conversion.

British Airways have seen a large variety of aircraft in their colours, in recent times the livery could be seen on the worlds shortest scheduled route - BN Islander carrying 8 passengers (operated by Loganair), the worlds fastest commercial airliner - Concorde, the worlds largest commercial airliner at the time - B747.400 (the types largest operator).

Aircraft operated by BA in the past 30 years:

Trident, HS748, BAC 1-11, Concorde, Vickers VC10, BAe 146, BAe ATP, DC10, Lockheed L-1011

Boeing 707.400, 727 (in BA colours for Comair), 737.200/300/400/500/800, 747.100/200/400/800F, 757.200, 767.200/300, 777.200/300 (soon to be 787)

Airbus 318, 319, 320, 321 (soon to be A380)

Subsidiary/Franchise operators:

You missed one. SAS also operated at least 3 Vickers Viscount 779s leased from Norwegian charter carrier Fred Olsen Air Transport for a short period in 1960-61. I expect they were wet leases although the aircraft were in SAS livery.
