I live in BOG and currently hold AV top tier FF with *gold and have almost 250k miles. I also happen to have over 150k Amex points which I can transfer to miles in many FF programs. I think it would be best if I stayed in star alliance and so I can transfer to NH or SQ. Should I open either NH or SQ FF and transfer my amex points (the ones I have and the ones I will accrue) and then put all my upcoming miles to that FF (SQ, NH)? Or should I stay at AV lifemiles and wait to use my points if needed?
If I switched to krisflyer, for instance, would I be able to get star gold with them (since I am already at AV) or must I start all over again from scratch?? Is there a minimum amount of miles I must fly with either NH or SQ to get top tier or could I fly other carriers and still get there?
I think it might be useful to say I accrue much more Amex points than miles...

SQ will not match.
I wouldn't get SQ unless you plan to fly them in J or F frequently and then make it to PPS. SQ have several tiers:
- Blue (obvious) - No Star status
- Elite Silver - Star Silver
- Elite Gold - Star Gold
All the above earned by flying Y, J, F, or P with SQ, MI, or any other Star Alliance carrier. Then:
- PPS Club - Star Gold
- PPS Club Solitaire - Star Gold
PPS Club is earned by spending SGD25,000 (before taxes and fees) on J or F tickets (Y does not count towards PPS status). PPS Solitaire is the same but you must accrue SGD25,000 for five consecutive years. They also used to have Lifetime PPS Club Solitaire but they discontinued that about 5 years ago.
Nowadays being Elite Gold with SQ is nearly as good as nothing. If you're not gonna be PPS, go with another airline.

WOW, didn't know that, thanks!!
How about ANA or AC? I mean, I think I can barely make Gold by flying Star Carriers, but I have a looot of amex points which I could use to get award tickets (and add them to my actual flown miles), should I go with either ANA or AC or maybe stick to another FF and if I have enough points use them separately??
