SEA International Connections Question

Sadly coming back to the states from Japan tomorrow, connecting from NRT to SEA on DL and from SEA to PHX on AS. (any spotters in either location, let me know if you can spot my flight!)

What's it like connecting internationally at SEA? How much do I need to walk, are the DL and AS terminals separate, are there usually long lines, and what's the deal with me unable to claim a seat although i'm confirmed on the AS flight?
