Hi everyone, I have delta gold medallion status, and if I'm traveling with people who don't have delta status, and are on the same booking as me, do they get sky priority benefits as well? And how does the upgrade work with this?
On another note, if I'm traveling with 2 others gold medallions, how does the upgrade work, do they need to clear everyone first, then clear us all together since we're on the same booking? Or does it put us in the line with all the other golds since we all have the status?

If it is all in the same PNR and there are less than 9 people total, everyone will automaticlly get your Medallion baggage allowance, Priority Bag handling and early boarding. If it's a group PNR with more than 9 only your family members are entitled to the excess baggage and an agent will have to manually override (their tags won't say priority but will be free).
As long as the other person has a Delta SkyMiles number in their account, you can request ONE companion upgrade. If you request to be upgraded together you will both be added to the bottom of the upgrade list, after Silver Medallions traveling alone. You can request the companion and be listed seperately, but in that case you will not be together on the upgrade list and more than likely only you would be upgraded and not your companion if it happens at all.

Request the upgrade individually by checking in seperately. Yes youl would all be at Gold level, but you would be grouped as a party of three at the lowest member's level. The only thing really that would affect your standing if all of you are Gold Medallion is if one, but not all, of you hold a Delta Amex Reserve Card. Best to just check in individually and get listed individually.

It's used as a tie-breaker. Say, as in your case, two Gold Medallions, tickets issued the same day, same check in time, one has the AMEX Reserve and one does not, the one with the card will be listed above the one without.

And if the upgrade doesn't clear before 24 hours before the flight, should I check in online, or does that end the chance of being upgraded? Does check in time matter for the order of the upgrade list?

You can check-in online... you will still be on the upgrade list.
I don't think check-in time plays any role in getting upgrades... unless the person before you on the list does not check-in before they start clearing upgrades at the gate.
