I know this might not seem aviationy; but I'm looking to do a trip out to Lithuania and then to Dublin with my girlfriend on Ryanair because right now it's all we can afford.
However, I tried to book with my Maestro debit card and "Maestro" is not there as a payable card, and it's the only card I have. Does anyone else on here have this problem, and how do I resolve it?
I have an inbound Vilnius to Liverpool on Wizz Air now thankfully as they take my card, but the Ryanair flight from LPL > KUN is perfect and really what I need for my trip.

Indeed they don't have it listed as a payment option so other than not going you'll either have to use another card - perhaps your parents? - or book with another airline.

What you can do is applying for a MasterCard prepaid, these cards are easy to get for a small annual fee and will wave the 6€/£6 booking fee for each of your flights. I have one from Moneybookers but there are other available as well...

Done. My girlfriend's Visa Debit worked. I think it's a bit ridiculous FR doesn't Maestro though, but doesn't exactly surprise me. Thanks for the help everyone!

Any reason why Ryanair doesn't accept Maestro?

UK Maestro is a bit of an odd thing, generally it's not widely accepted outside of the UK because the card number is longer then most credit cards.... I know with HSBC the number was your sort code and account number preceded by 6759. Also you had an additional 'Issue Number' field. Most UK banks have now moved to Visa Debit which is accepted globally. As Ryanair are Irish based their systems may not be able to process UK Maestro
