Does anyone know why Delta 244 (MSP-AMS) flew to JFK last night? Flightaware/live/flight/DAL244. Why did it fly so low at 21,000 ft? I noticed the JFK destination on flightaware, even before departure, so it wasn't the usual in flight diversion. I did check to see if there was any odd continuing flights out of JFK to AMS, but didn't see any.

There were problems with the forward and mid lavatories that initially delayed the flight. MSP maintenance was unsuccessful in correcting the issue, so the aircraft and passengers departed for AMS with a planned flag stop in JFK for an equipment swap. The plane arrived at 2:22am and after an equipment change, departed for AMS around 4 this morning.
Not sure the reason behind such a low cruise altitude.
