Seeking some advice as it's been some time since I have been to either JFK or LGA. I am flying into JFK on 14 October but will need to get from JFK to LGA. Does anyone know if the New York Airport Shuttle bus is still running (shifty-looking thing but it did the job for $15 if I remember correct), or is there a similar service now? I just recall it was much easier to get a walk-up fare and get on the bus, but I haven't been able to find anything recent on the NYAS shuttle.

I always used to do these transfers by public transport but then last summer took the cab and was amazed how cheap it was. It was like $25 (can the locals confirm?), a bit more expensive than AirTrain plus subway / bus but definitely less of a hassle.
All the things you probably hate about travelling are warm reminders that I'm home

I've used the "NYC Airporter" on that route, just once and in the opposite direction, but I'd do it again any time. You can walk up to the ticket salesman/woman right by the terminal exit and the price is somthing like $15... although that may have been Penn Station to JFK, I don't remember.
