So I booked a flight yesterday on AA Flight 2 and 3 R/T between LAX and JFK. I admit I've been in a cave the last few weeks and am now worried that it could be cancelled. I know the situation is fluid but does anyone with more knowledge about AA know if December flights are mostly set? Especially along the busy transcon routes? Any advice would help. I am still in the 24 hour window to cancel.

Everything should be settled by then, things are running more smoothly this week, pretty much back to normal.

No way to tell.

Current AA pre-plan cancellations are till end of October. The December schedule has not been trimmed yet.

Things could go either way, however if your flight and its timings are critical to you, I would have a back up plan.

How soon do you think it would be out? What would be a good back-up plan? Booking a refundable ticket on another carrier?

I highly doubt AA 2 and AA 3 would be considered for canceling.

Either give yourself more time so if they cancel it wont ruin your trip, or book elsewhere imo.
