Got to wondering about flights which usually have a Celeb or two on-board around the world.
A friend who works for BA at LHR tells me that BA269, LHR-LAX is quite popular with the stars. It leave London at 4pm and arrives at LAX at a comfortable 7pm, just in time for supper and bed.She said that during the week there was always a "name" or two to been seen in First Class.
Wondering if there are other regular "Celeb" routes around the globe.
you don't get a second chance to make a first impression!

Quoting longhauler (Reply 9): For the while that the B767 was flying YYZ-LAX-YYZ, I was surprised at the numbers of "celebrities" I would see on these flights. Often one or two a flight!
I expect LAX-YVR-LAX was another popular celebrity route, and may still be. Not sure whether YVR (or YYZ) are still used as heavily for movie production these days with the Canadian and U.S. dollars close to par, although I think there were other reasons like more flexible union rules etc.

Just as a guess, I'd say it would be more likely to see celebs on a route where it is difficult or impossible to get a reasonably priced charter. LAX-LAS is easily done with Netjets or some equivalent. LAX-LHR not so easy.
On a slightly related note, I grew up next to Beverly Hills, but literally on the wrong side of the tracks. I saw celebs all the time at a big drugstore (now gone) before they had a similar place in Beverly Hills. If a visitor wanted to see someone famous I suggested the Baskin-Robbins ice cream store in Beverly Hills. No matter how rich and famous you are there is no way to send out for an ice cream cone. The whole experience is about being there.
With airports, the best part of travelling is NOT being at the airport, so celebs will either avoid them with a charter or disappear into the first class lounge at the airport and not emerge until the last moment, slip through the L2 door on a wide-body at the last minute and turn left. Mr row 47 will never know it happened.
JFK-LAX is a very, very frequent celebrity route. Sometimes at work, when bored, I'll check who's in F on these flights. Usually find at least one a day. Mondays and Fridays I frequently find several per flight.

I have had quite a few celeb spots on the Virgin LAX-LHR route. Famous fashion designers, film and tv stars, sports and musical artists have all been seen. I even saw some on the now defunct MaxJet flights between STN and LAX.
