Easyjet Allocated Seating

A quick question, a couple I know have just booked flights on EZY after the allocated seating comes in. They don't mind where they sit but would prefer to sit together if possible. Do EZY keep all members of a party together or are they split up if they don't pay the seat selection fee....

To be sure you'll sit together prebook your seats, that's what its there for! Otherwise you will get whats left and that could Mean all of your party will end up with middle seats only as it seems prebooking of seats is very popular and switching seats on board is not allowed according to Terms and Conditions of easyJet !
