Hi everyone!
It seems to me that the old thread ( Your 2012 Booked Flights Cont... (by boeingfever777 Apr 25 2012 in Aviation Polls) ) is getting quite large, so I decided to make a new one which also takes 2013 into account as I know many of us have already booked flights for next year.

There have been a couple of changes since I last posted in the old thread, which I've bolded. I haven't actually booked anything new, unfortunately, and right now I only have 1 planned flight for next year. Not only that, 2013 looks like it will be a pretty boring year travel wise. If I ended up only do trips back and forward between BNE and CBR then I wouldn't be too surprised

Mx at MIA meant I missed my original flight from ATL-GSO on Sep 30. I was rebooked on the next flight just 90 minutes later, and given a $50 flight voucher and $18 meal voucher. Kudos DL
And AA were kind enough to change my flight from EWR to DFW to one leaving 2 hours later. I wouldn't mind as much if they'd at least sent me an email or something. Instead I only discovered through "manage my booking"
Still, 42 flights this year on everything from an ATR42 to A380. Can't complain really!
Well when i was there in July, i visited a place called the ENP (Elephant nature park) and spent the day volunteering. When i was there i noticed that there is also a large rescue shelter for dogs that had been rescued from the floods in Bangkok the year before. Over 250 dogs. I fell in love with them and am going back for two weeks to volunteer at the dog shelter. Chiang Mai is indeed beautiful.
To open 2013, I took advantage of two seat sales, which means that I'm headed to Bohol (in the Philippines) in February on Zest Airways, and to Taiwan in March on AirAsia Philippines. Plus I'm also beginning to formulate an itinerary for Wikimania 2013 in Hong Kong: suggestions are welcome!

Still several to book, and more to plan - I need to book flights back from the SFO/LAX to PHL, hoping I can work AirTran and a 717 into it - perhaps even a Voltea 717 at the end too. Will no doubt be many more trips back and forth to MAH this year to look forwards to as well...

well, I don't remotely keep the same level of detail as some of you guys but, from FF account records, by the end of 2012 I will have flown the following number of segments in 2012:
WN: 80. Mostly PHX-SLC-PHX but a few others thrown in for good measure.
DL: 13
B6: 5
UA: 3
For 2013. I already have 9 segments booked on WN to Feb 10th.

The Dash-8-300 is a new type for me, which is exciting. I've flown on the -200 and -400, so it's good to plug the gap. And I always enjoy 1 hour flights on widebody metal.
As I'm sure you are aware there isn't much to get overly excited about on this route. Maybe QF8 as the novelty of the 747 on such a short flight could be interesting.
If you had the time and money, and wanted to be a bit more adventurous, then you could look at more exotic routings through rural towns with the likes of Skytrans or Brindabella/AeroPelican. For example, something like:

Unfortunately, the morning flight BNE-TWB does not operate on Tuesdays, so can't do that which is a shame because a DHC8-100 is a rare creature in Europe!
I may well look at the option of going via Tamworth, or alternatively via Narrabri on a combination of Brindabella & AeroPelican Looking forward to it!

I expect many more flights in 2013 but nothing planned yet !
Boracay during low season is an interesting place, as far as I've heard. Anyway, you'll be more than welcome here in the Philippines!
----
Currently planning an itinerary for Wikimania 2013 in Hong Kong. I'm planning to take up to 15-16 days off of school to go around China, so I'm inclined to do an itinerary like this:
*8/5: MNL/CRK-MFM (5J or TR/DG)
*8/7: MFM-HKG (ferry)
*8/12: SZX-PEK (CZ)
*8/15: PEK-SHA/PVG (CZ or MU)
*8/18: SHA/PVG-XMN (CZ or MU or MF)
*8/20: XMN-ZUH (FM)
*8/21: MFM-MNL/CRK (5J or TR/DG)
I'm planning to redeem Skymiles for my intra-China segments, so I'm limiting myself to CZ, MU and FM. Better though if I can score cheap tickets which promise 100% mileage accrual!
I also have an alternate itinerary which passes through CAN, as I wanted to do some shopping along Beijing Road for the day.
*8/5: MNL/CRK-MFM (5J or TR/DG)
*8/7: MFM-HKG (ferry)
*8/12: HKG-CAN (CZ)
*8/13: CAN-PEK (CZ)
*8/16: PEK-SHA/PVG (CZ or MU)
*8/18: SHA/PVG-XMN (CZ or MU or MF)
*8/20: XMN-ZUH (FM)
*8/21: MFM-MNL/CRK (5J or TR/DG)
My last segment may be flown too from HKG instead of MFM if it's more economical. (Preferably, I'd like to fly out of MFM back, as I intend to spend the day in Zhuhai and I don't want to have to deal with the 1.5-hour ferry ride to Hong Kong.)

You could put it that way: since it's the start of the school year, and also of the rainy season, there will be fewer people in Boracay in general. Definitely fewer Filipino tourists, who make up the bulk of people who go there. Do expect more Koreans and foreigners though.

Most of my flights are between New York and Los Angeles because I started graduate school in NYC in August 2012. Since then, I've commuted between New York and Los Angeles about every other week(end). I have yet to book my flights between NYC/LA for April, May, and June so there will be a few more flights then.

I did it before 2 years back. When I flew in, my plane was sitting across the hall from where I was. Ran to the hot-dog stand and grabbed a bite to eat, and brought it on board. Wasn't bad at all.

Flown thus far:
1/10 WN LGA-MKE 737
WN MKE-MSP 737
Upcoming
3/8 DL GFK-MSP CRJ
DL MSP-BDL E175

Sadly no mainline flights in my near future. Though I suppose I can't complain, Compass E175s are just as good as a standard narrowbody IMO.

There's a chance we may have ended up on the same flight - I was originally looking at that route on that day with VX. Instead I'm taking Amtrak's Coast Starlight over the weekend with a stop in San Luis to see family and flying Virgin America on LAX-PDX.

The terminal they use at SFO is really nice, and way better than T3 at LAX. The on board experience was really good. One can really tell the difference between the legacies and VX. There is very little that distinguish the legacies apart, but as soon as you step aboard a VX aircraft you will notice the difference. You know, they are a splash of red in a world of grey .
I really do hope that VX will survive and continue to grace our skies, because they are really different to the other American airlines.
I had a long gap with no commercial flying, but did some flying on my own, so I didn't ever feel like I hadn't flown enough, quite the opposite actually.
Same here, it was excellent. 78 seconds after ordering a drink through the screen it arrived - just how good is that!
