Just for fun: if you had an airline that operated short, medium, and long routes, which airplanes would you chose. What would your hub be? What would it be called? I would put this forum in the other forums but I wanted an expert opinion. So enjoy yourselves and be creative.

For me I would call it Classy Airways, my hub would be IAH (Continental would share). I would have MD-90s for short routes, 757s and A321s for medium range, 767-400s and 777-300s for the longer routes. CRJ-600's for the regional routes. If costs were not an issue I'd have steak and shrimp for every passenger!  Big grin

If I had my own airline...I would have this thread moved to the polls and prefs forum...this used to come up almost as often here as the thread about red-tailed five-abreast planes being sent to some desert, and some airline with a mis-colored flag on its tail going the way of the dinosaur...sorry...

SHUPirate1, I kind of figured there would be some people mad that I posted this, but it's fun to think of. I would like an answer specifically from you now. I think your airline would be called "Too Serious To Have Fun Airways".

I do have one. You can find it at http://silver.dei-pe.com/flywestex. (Under Construction). Big grin

Seriously though, if I had my own airline, I would have as few management personel as possible. And I'd do my best not to screw my employees, and give them a decent place to work. As for ops, I like lots of international flying with a good domestic network.

Well, it'd be just like this:

http://www.peruanadeaviacion.com/

Basically we take advantage of the fact that there is no Peruvian carrier operating international flights. We fly 747s (200s, 200SUDs, and 300s) on routes from our base in Lima to the following cities:

  • Miami, United States

  • New York City (JFK), United States

  • Los Angeles, United States

  • Chiclayo, Peru

  • Iquitos, Peru

  • London (LGW), England (We have a focus city here)

  • Baltra, Ecuador

  • Paris (ORY), France

  • Madrid, Spain

  • Milan (MXP), Italy

  • And coming soon...

  • Honolulu, Hawaii

  • Tokyo (NRT), Japan

  • Frankfurt, Germany

  • Sydney, Australia

  • Auckland, New Zealand

  • Send in a Pilot Application today!

And now I have finished my violation of Rule 15.

Anyway, that'd be my airline. 747s on long-haul routes from Lima. Someone's got to give that new terminal building in Lima some use!
