Hi Community!
I have a request here some of you might be able to help me with:
I'm going to book 2 flights on April 4, and I find both of them individually at great fares, but I can't find a way to get them both on one ticket. I'd be willing to spend more money to have them both as a single itinerary (just in case the first is delayed, to be on the safe side).
It's not like they are totally unrelated or one is on an LCC, where a single ticket would not be possible. One of them is on Thai and one on Lufthansa, both Star Alliance, so this should be possible!
So the first flight is Thai's TG206, leaving HKT 1210, arriving BKK 1335. (April 4)
I know there are some earlier flights that day, but I want the A300-600C they (hopefully) use on it.
Separately, I can book this flight at 2880 Baht = 73 EUR.
The second segment is Lufthansa's LH782, leaving BKK 1515, arriving KUL 1820. (April 4)
I can book this one at 3420 Baht = 87 EUR.
Can anybody find a booking site (or travel agency) that would book these 2 segments on a single itinerary?
If not, do you think it is safe to connect from one to the other on separate tickets, if the first flight is not delayed?
Thanks for your help!
Soren

A quick look at published fares and a check in the GDS says you're out of luck. The cheapest fares on both HKT-BKK (TG) and BKK-KUL (LH) don't allow end-on-end combinations. The only way to price the itinerary to ticket both together would be to fare the itinerary in the cheapest fare classes that allow end-on-end combinations, which, in this case, is the full Y fare as shown below (albeit in USD):
Fare 1: Carrier TG YOW HKT to BKK (rules)
Passenger type ADT, ONE-WAY-ONLY fare, booking code Y
$151.67
Fare 2: Carrier LH Y77OW BKK to KUL (rules)
Passenger type ADT, ONE-WAY-ONLY fare, booking code Y
$476.92
Additionally the TG fare from HKT-BKK seems to be a web-only or limited distribution channel fare because it isn't published in the GDS I'm using to look at fares.

Thank you both of you for your help! Actually I might just book 2 tickets and try my luck. I'm sure a walk up fare to KUL can't be too high. If I do one right now (for today) I get 72 EUR on Ethiopian and 129 on Malaysian. So I assume if I get stranded in April, I can do the same thing.
