The title basically says it all. What are your favourite prop-powered planes, and which do you think are the best looking? For the purpose of comparison with jets, let's leave out smaller single-engined models.

Quoting DocGATTACA (Reply 5): Agreed, it has to be the Constellation. An astonishingly beautiful aeroplane.
It is a very cool plane, not least because of it being part of aviation history and a lovely, big, propeller-driven plane, but I'm not mad on the fuselage shape.

For me it's the Dash 8-300, middle of the family size wise and a great, reliable, and solid performer. It'll take a beating from mother nature all in its stride and get you down on the ground safely when other aircraft are WX'd out.
Some more of the Russian types need a mention too. The Il-18 - what a stunner, the noise up front is almost Godly, but mind if you have fillings because they will fall out. And the An-24, it's the ultimate solid performer which keeps on going, lapping up some of the harshest punishment you could throw at a plane with very little TLC in many cases.
Quoting RussianJet (Thread starter): JS-41 - sleek, beautifully-proportioned, nice to ride in. British-made.
Interesting, the Jetstreams are not often classed as nice to fly in - unless in comparison to a D22 or Metroliner. Solid aircraft mind.
Quoting RussianJet (Thread starter): AN-140 - Again, very neatly-proportioned, looks solid and modern, with nice curves and interesting propellers.
Fantastic aircraft, my favorite modern prop still in production.
Quoting SRQKEF (Reply 3): I have to say the iconic nose of the F50 looks pretty awesome:
It does, nice aircraft
Quoting DocGATTACA (Reply 5): My current favourite, that I can actually fly on (at least for now), is the DHC-7 with Berjaya.
I love those things, grew up watching them every day of my life - those very aircraft Berjaya have now
Quoting YVRLTN (Reply 10): For modern airliners, the Q400 is hard to beat and the Do328 is not far behind.
Not too keen on the Q400 but agreed that the D328 is a cracker.
Quoting AirbusA6 (Reply 15): The BAE ATP is a nice looking plane, it seems just the right length (the Q400 is too long and thin for me!). This BD livery suited it as well.

Gotta agree with you here, Dan... The 328 has to be my favorite turboprop strictly for looks.
The Dash 8-400 looks a bit odd from most angles... I think both the 100/200 and the 300 are cuter than their younger but bigger brother. Not that the ATR is any better. Overall I think Dash>ATR for looks.

Quoting dstc47 (Reply 17): The Airspeed Ambassador, lovely lines, perhaps even making the elegant Constellation look gawky.
I have heard this a lot, and seen it written everywhere, but I could never see it. I always thought the Airspeed Ambassador to be "odd looking", the Constellation too!
But that may explain my choice, as I have always found the straight lines of the L188 Electra to be very handsome.

Call me crazy, but I like the short 360 and love the Beech 1900C and Beech 99. When I tell people this I usually get a response of "eww those are gross looking."

25 CrimsonNL: I'm a big fan of prop aircraft, and I do believe that there isn't a better engine sound then one of a radial piston engine. However I am appalled that
